Welcome to Bubbles!

KUMB is pleased to announce that we've teamed up Bubbles, the newest and freshest Hammers fanzine to hit the streets on match days. As a result we'll be swapping articles from time to time, plus you can catch all of the match reports from KUMB on the pages of Bubbles.

We've Got To Get Back On Track

Well - what a few weeks it has been. There's so much that has been going on.

We beat Man U 1-0 in the Cup. Also Man U went out of the Cup to us and Di Canio scored the goal that knocked Man U out of the FA Cup...

It was just one of those special days and really makes me proud to be a West Ham fan. Everyone was brilliant - from the players to the supporters. It was a perfect day.

Now, a lot of people have been telling me to be a bit more upbeat with regards to our current form, but I just can’t say nothing. People might not agree with me but I think we have big problems. That Man U result has stopped fans from saying anything but if you look at our current form it has been a disgrace.

We haven’t won in the league since Boxing Day. That result against Coventry was not acceptable. We were cr*p from start to finish and I don’t think we deserved sh*t from that game. Ok - we shouldn’t have conceded the goal when we did but if you look at the overall performance it was bad.

Some of the players looked really out of sorts - Cole has got to learn to play the quick ball and to the right person. Has anyone else notices that when Carrick has a good game Lampard is cr*p, and when Lampard has a decent game Carrick is equally poor? That’s what is beginning to happen. They cancel each other out.

We also so badly lack a great goal scorer, a six yard box player, a goal poacher. Kanoute is great but he is not going to get us 20 goals. He’ll cause problems for defenders and set up goal and he will get the odd one but he won’t score at the rate we need.

The two players we signed for significant money (!) Song and Camara don’t even get in the team anymore! Camara is utterly sh*te. There’s no point in saying ‘well he’s new and needs time to settle in’ - face it - he’s just not good enough.

Song is a decent player and could add something at the back but he is a right back, not a centre half. Dailly ain’t a centre half either. And neither is Stuart Pearce. Tihinen has been told he can leave as there’s no way Harry’s going to sign him , which is a bit of a shame as he looks a solid player.

When I look at our defence against Coventry I think - Steve Potts would be better in this team. A least he don’t make so many mistakes.

What gets me more mad is that when I look at our team and some of the teams that are above us it gets me so angry. We have some quality players. I mean I think that when we can boast, Lampard, Di Canio, Kanoute, Cole and Carrick all in the same team we should be doing better.

I think we will get better because I do rate us. Not just cause I love the club to bits but I do think we are capable of so much more. The FA cup is vital for us this season - I said at the start of the season that if we win a cup I don’t care where we finish as long as we don’t go down.- This is because we want two things in a season - win a trophy and get into Europe.

I know I've been moaning a bit but I had to get these things off my chest. Another point - Man U 0 West Ham 1 (Di Canio 76 mins) ...

Today is going to be another very hard test. Sunderland are very hard to beat as we found out a few weeks ago and they can score goals too. They’ve got a few players out today, Michael Gray, Alex Rae and Don Hutchinson. Gray I thought was their best player at Upton Park a few weeks a go so hopefully we can take advantage.

Alex Ferguson walked in to a bar recently and the barman asked him what he’d like. Alex says: "I'll have a treble please”. West Ham fan gets up and says: “no you f*cking won’t!!!” I could talk about that game for ever...... 1-0.

After some recent complaints about Bubbles from another fanzine I have to say that Bubbles is not competing with anyone. It’s free yeah, but it’s not out to take away any readers from the other fanzines. I doubt that if you get given a Bubbles it’s going to stop you from buying another fanzine - is it? Comments from this fanzine saying that publications such as myself are taking things off the net and giving them away for free is wrong.

Graeme Howlett and his site KUMB have been very good. They give me match reports and I get to put Bubbles on the web site. It’s a favour for a favour. Good publicity for me and them. No conspiracy against any fanzine. In fact I think the West Ham fanzines are great and I love reading them. They're so much better than the overpriced programme.

I don’t want to discredit any of our fanzines in any way. I never have done and I never will. They put a lot of hard work into their publications and have done a great job over the years. I’m not here to put that into question. Yeah, Bubbles is free - but it’s not of the quality as the fanzine in question.

Anyway enough about that and more on Man U! YOU'RE OUT OF THE CUP!! There we go - I needed that ...

What were Sky doing putting our match on at 12 today? I mean Arsenal were playing Chelsea so why didn’t that match get put to 12? They couldn’t give a toss about the fans that have to get up at all hours of the morning.

Anyway - here’s to a win today and a great cup run (I hope).

Can’t say I'm too happy with our recent form - it’s been such an under par season. We really should be doing a lot better than we have been. Apart from the cup game at Man U, I think we all expected to be further up the league than we are.

Someone tell me - Why did Harry sign Camara? I’m all for improving the squad but come on ~ have I missed something here?

Losing Trevor Sinclair has been a blow and I think we have missed him. I don’t know about everyone else but I would love to see us go to a back four. Tihinen we should go out and buy, plus a top class striker to play with Freddie and have Paolo the God playing behind them.

Anyway on to the Man U game! - This was a day to remember for all of us and today we should just forget about the up and down season we are having and really get behind the boys.

Around ten thousand Hammers took over Old Trafford., we out sung them and stuffed there treble up their ars*s.

I am going to live on this one for a long time and so should everyone else. So lets remember that special day and carry on today at Sunderland. We beat the Mancs and I am sure with our great support and the God Di Canio - we can make it into the quarter finals.

Come on you irons ...

Jim
