My son and his pals love this. Can't get them off it. Seems to be a big thing at their school.Joyeux Marteau wrote:Just getting into Fornite, any one else playing?

Seems to be massive everywhere, most of the guys at work are playing it. There's a lot of videos on YouTube/twitch.Up the Junction wrote: My son and his pals love this. Can't get them off it. Seems to be a big thing at their school.
If anyone wants a game of duos/squads I'm on Xbox live. I think there is cross platform Xbox/pc at least.

Fortnite is the bane of my life, I've had a little go when it first came out but my eldest is absolutely addicted to it, as are all of his friends.

Re: What are you playing right now?
On a whim I loaded a 20+ year old game on my system called Throne of Darkness, a game set in medieval samurai Japan.
Must to my surprise it works perfectly and I am ploughing through it, It's so severe. You get one save - one. Make a mistake and bang hours and hours of gaming gone. But it's worth it - it's got it all - levelling, creating magical items, crafting, tactics ( formations, styles, aggression levels) and hard monsters. It's got dated graphics, it's a bit clunky but it really works. I played it years ago and quit - this time I am gonna finish it.

Tales of Eternia - PSP
Pro Evo 6 - PSP
Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS2
FIFA 09 - PS2 although not fairing too well as my son keeps beating me.
Started going back to Shenmue on the Dreamcast but trying to find the hours in the day is proving difficult.

Tempest 4000. A psychedelic masterwork. Truly crying out for VR compatibility though.
Still trying to work my way through FarCry5 as much as parenthood and real life will allow.

Gone back to ark from ESO. trying my hand and at the pve side this time in a unofficial server with slightly boosted rates. Have to say I'm loving the game again. Still up there with the best games I've played.

I'm playing Sin, an old FPS from the late 90s which, thanks to GOG, runs fine. Good for the old nostalgia factor. Funny how times change -- with all the very low-poly characters about the only things realistically animated are the female villain's absurdly massive breasts. They must have taken quite some time.

I vaguely remember Sin - was it a Quake rip off type deal?
I bought the remastered Shenmue collection, but not played yet... I want some proper time with it, so will probably hold off until Monday or Tuesday when I’m off work.

Sin was a bit later, right around the time of Half-Life. I think it uses the ID engine, but it doesn't have that Quake feel...apart from the fact that the tech is similarly basic.simonpaulthomas wrote:I vaguely remember Sin - was it a Quake rip off type deal?

Getting towards the end of Persona 5 (100 hours in) - really enjoyable (much more "fun" than RDR2). Not something I would usually play, but it had really good reviews, and is cheap (ish) on PS4

Re: What are you playing right now?
Battlefield V.
Quite difficult compared to BF1 as spotting & marking enemies has largely gone and health and ammo is more restricted, but it has excellent graphics in a WW2 setting and it definitely encourages team play even more so than the previous installments, so it's a good job I'm part of a great group of players. Solo players may find it tough unless they are lucky to join a good squad in-game
There are quite a few glitches at the moment, and additional free content is coming soon so it does have a slightly unfinished feel, but I'm very happy with it so far

I hope and expect that this Battlefield will be significantly better.
How does the MP play?
