Re: Red Dead Redemption II
I have only just finished the 1st game, but it was the original E3 trailer that made me play it as this one looks incredible.
I heard it isnt a sequel. So from what I make of that, it wont be centered around John Marsdens son.

Re: Red Dead Redemption II
It's a prequel featuring the gang that Marsden left. There's a possibility that Marsden may be involved - you don't see him in the trailer (unless he's one of the gang with a covered face) but there's a line from one gang member about "needing another hand".
The last RDR was probably the greatest video game I've had the good fortune to play. And I've been playing them for a while.

I played this game so much. My mrs used to walk in the room while i was skinning a wolf and wonder what the f*** i was doing. But I will definitely buy this. I'm willing to donate several days of my life enjoying it.
Re: Red Dead Redemption II
Yes, absolutely. Although I remember playing a game called Midwinter on the Atari ST and having a similar experience.Up the Junction wrote: The last RDR was probably the greatest video game I've had the good fortune to play. And I've been playing them for a while.

Re: Red Dead Redemption II
I think I may have shed a tear at the ending of the first one, it took me ages to complete simply because there was so much fun to be had tearing about the wilderness exploring.
Really looking forward to this.

I’m one of the 0.01% who thought the first one was rubbish.
How can you have a western with rubbish shooting? The horse riding was bloody annoying too.
If they sort those two bits out then I may be able to engage with the story this time.

I loved Midwinter too, until I found a bug that wherever the cursor arrow was pointing when you started the game was where you spawned on the map. Therefore putting it next to the final base meant you could complete it in minutes. I can't quite remember what the aim of the game was, but enjoyed the exploring and free world, which was pretty revolutionary in its day.jacko wrote: Yes, absolutely. Anyway, really looking forward to RDR2, although I never quite got round to finishing the first one. It was the first game I bought on the PS3.

I think this is a must buy for me, just debating whether I buy this before or after Far Cry 5!

This looks outrageous.
I also love this video with the basic narration. Every game should feature a trailer such as this to give you the best possible feel for it.

Agreed, that's a great trailer.
I'm not one for hyperbole, but I think this will be the best game in the history of the world.

Re: Red Dead Redemption II
The GTA games up until IV had atrocious shooting. RDR was a joy to behold compared to them. I always found it odd that a company as big as Rockstar didn't put more effort into getting it right.MB wrote:I’m one of the 0.01% who thought the first one was rubbish.

I belong to a PSVR group and quite a few of them refuse to play "flat games" now. Which means none of them will be playing this huge, immersive game, but instead playing even more wave shooters and shooting galleries that are over in a couple of hours. Good luck with that boys.

Red Dead Redemption 2
Released next Friday, and I cannot wait.
The first one was incredible, and I can admit a tear rolled down my cheek with the ending.
Over 60 hours of story mode in this one, and the game looks absolutely massive.
I imagine a few others will be getting this?

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I will get it eventually
I have heard Rockstar have held back and made sure pre-orders are dispatched on Thursday 25th? Looks like those ordering online might not get it on release day?
