Steam Link device or App

Post by szola »

Anyone here using the Steam Link device or app, to play on (an Android/Smart) TV?

Any better controller out there then the Steam controller for these games?

I have 2 steam links (one in the living room, one in the bedroom) I have a steam controller, but hardly use it as i think the buttons are too small.

The link has 3 USB ports, so you can use a wireless xbox controller with a dongle for gamepad games. For mouse and keyboard games, i have a wireless M&K combo. All controllers are very easy to use with the steam link.

Like The_Cheadley, I tried desperately to get mine to work when it first arrived but ultimately gave up.

If your wifi is like mine/ours, there's no way in hell you'll be able to stream PC games to your TV without constant interruption.

I'm looking at 1000/1000 broadband, but I'd need to have it on wifi as the TV is in an other part of the house.

I went a bit of a unique route with mine - got a tiny 2nd hand PC (granted, it's one I had in stock when I had the business) and used the Steam PC to PC streaming over powerline adaptors.

The beast of a machine did all the work, and the tiny machine projected it on to the telly.

DL - sounds sensible. Any issues with latency on the TV, or was it generally good enough?
