I caught that new CB on the radio the other day, but it didn't grab me.

Now, one of the album of the year contenders (if you're into large-canvas, complex, unfurling rhythmic algorithms)

Great to hear someone else is digging it. Perhaps I haven't been looking in the right places, but I haven't really heard anything like it before. It has that quality of seeming to drift along in a blurry groove while at the same time absolutely brimming with exciting ideas and surprises. Wonderful stuff.

I'm assuming you're already aware of Sounding Lines, by the Moritz Von Oswald Trio.

Its not precisely the same, but I'd suggest it is probably the closest.

Interesting. I do have it, but I haven't listened to it anywhere near as much as I did their earlier albums. I will, of course, now revisit it with fresh ears. Which is what I love really, these connections that send you back to pay more attention to semi-forgotten records.

Moritz also did an album with Juan Atkins, last year.

Nothing like Sprenger, really, but good nonetheless.

Revisiting some albums I played a lot in the early part of the year, and this one is sounding particularly sweet.

I would sell my house, my family, and all of my flying saucers so that I could pay to have a uterus and, um, all the other stuff installed just so that I could have Jonathan Richman's naively adenoidal babies.

I listened to this earlier in the year and hated it, and thought I'd revisit it after seeing this. Playing it through headphones, it's still a tough listen, but there are some moments when the noise hits the sweet spot, a bit like Yellow Swans or something. Overall, though, I'm not sure. I will stick with it though as there's quite a lot going on in there.

Funnily enough i thought when i listened it was one of the best things I'd heard all week. I've only given it the listen once, will give it another go later.

Anyhow Brainiak Records Live At The Brain from 1990.
