Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
A bit harsh, if black album , load/re-load were released by anyone else they'd be seen as great rock albums, the problem is they are not original Metallica. Also mop is a masterpiece plain and simple (though ajfa is even better in my opinion)warp wrote:[any other band living off the back of two great albums for more than three decades like they are doing?

maybe harsh, but nothing short of what they deservewolf359 wrote:A bit harsh, if black album , load/re-load were released by anyone else they'd be seen as great rock albums, the problem is they are not original Metallica. black album is ok, but it's no surprise that the most known songs from that album are unforgiven and nothing else matters. two good slow songs, mind, but if that's what you remember a metallica album for, well...
load is meh, re-load done with the songs that couldn't get into load.
you could say those albums would be considered great if someone else wrote them, i'm more of the opinion that they are mediocre albums and the name on the cover helped them massively.
master of puppets is nearly there with kill em all and ride the lightning so i could have said three albums instead of two, that's fair.
...justice is too long and has probably three good songs in it.
the rest i won't even mention.
monotonically decreasing quality since the very beginning.

The ever-fragrant Mrs MB played in a band that supported them, and Grant McLennan was, um, exceptionally attentive towards her after the show. I'm pretty sure I would have been alright about it, tbh.

That reminds me that Robert Forster once amorously ruffled my hair in the front row at The Escape Club. Obviously that kind of a band.Monkeybubbles wrote: The ever-fragrant Mrs MB played in a band that supported them, and Grant McLennan was, um, exceptionally attentive towards her after the show. Man, I love that Liberty Belle album though.

I don't look at Spotify often and I dd this morning. Ghost in the Machine was in the recommendations list. I don't think I've listened to the whole album since the 80's. You hear tracks on the radio periodically, but not the whole album. Still holds up I think.
