First 2 series of The Walking Dead this week, am thoroughly enjoying it, you never know who's going to be written out next. Lots of gleeful dark humour in the way many of the walkers are dispatched.
I suspect it may go downhill in the same way Dexter did, but good stuff so far.

You are correct - you've seen the peak of TWD and it slowly declines into the joke it is now.

Cheers mate. Disappointing to hear it's that soon, I shall carry on and see how far I get.

Seasons 3-5/6 are still decent even if the quality did decline a little so I think there are still a few good seasons left for you, but Wolfie is right, perhaps not quite as good as 1&2. The last 2 seasons though have seen a sharp drop in quality. I still watch as I have read all of the comics (on the back of the show) and the couple of arcs yet to come are great stories, so if done properly should be great......But who knows. They may tinker and mess them up.

Finally got around to watching the Dekalog boxset by Krzysztof Kieślowski. Did 1 & 2 tonight. Not for everyone but widely regarded as a masterpiece in film. 10 hour long bites loosely based on the 10 Commandments although from watching the first two I wouldn't have known had I not read about it. Strangely compelling. Looking forward to the next 8.

The Alienist.

binge watching.....read the book ages and ages ago so not sure how close to the book it is, but pretty decent viewing to be honest....very dark as the content relates to young prostitute boys being murdered and dismembered.

set in the late 1890's New York..

recommend it..anyone else seen it ?

Think John Wilson from the 1990's TV show mixed with top gear lite.

Found Ken Burns' ' The Vietnam War ' on Netflix yesterday .

Watched Episode 7 of ' The Bridge ' tonight , it's as great as ever and heading towards its climax next Friday .

I'm not a fan of ITV because of all the adverts so I was interested in ' Unforgotten ' when it came up on Sky Box Sets [ it's also on Netflix ] - starring the very consistent Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar , two Detectives investigating past unsolved cases- there's 2 series both excellent .

Just watched 'Incident in a Ghost Land' from the director of Martyrs

I liked it. Thought it was well made despite one too many horror cliches, and kept me interested until the end. A decent psychological thriller/horror. Bearing in mind that I like to compare like with like, it was certainly a cut above the majority of other films being released in the genre.

She hated it. Thought it was a load of cliched ridiculous rubbish. Oh well.

I couldn't take to ' The Split ' , gave up watching it after 15 minutes or so .

Walker's performances in ' River ' and ' Scott and Bailey ' were also exceptional and yeah I remember her in ' Spooks ' which I loved .

Just seen they're making Series 3 of ' Unforgotten ' - will pencil that in .

the Split is well worth persevering with OMoS .....

she is brilliant in it...it might be a bit "for women" but the characters are excellent, the cast good and the plot line pretty decent......Stephen Tompkinson is in a different role, his wife in the series Meera Syal is very good.

Unforgotten was excellent and she was/is top notch in it.......she's going to be one busy lady here, series 3 of Unforgotten and series 2 of The Split.....
