went to a race day for my best mates birthday last year, first time i had ever been to the gee gees - 8 of us, pure bants.

anyway, got there and the first race was happening within 5 minutes - i didn't have time to "study form" or what not, so just slapped £10 on a horse that looked to have some kind of value.

the race finishes and after waiting patiently i don't see my rider or horse crossing the line - then i see the rider walking back slowly on his own and a black fence/cover over his horse that had fallen at a fence.

my bets didn't get much better after that.
