I'm on a horrible run at the moment. Won £150 with France race to 9 corners then lost it on Sweden +1 Headbanger

So tonight, to make money you can bet against me!

I've gone for Russia race to 9 corners @ 7/1 and Russia -1 @ 15/4

Also bet on cards. done 25 bets for this game, had £100 on Czechs so spent the winngs at £5 each......

Russia first corner, more corners than poland, poland last corner, poland more bookin points..........love gambling :raver:

If Kerzhakov (sp) scores first and Russia wins i'll break even......Hopefully be 2-1 Russia with Leadownski and Dzargov (i cant spell these players names) with other 2

Dyl.

Serious question.

Aren't corner markets a horrible bet of chance. More like the spin of a jackpot machine than any real resemblence of skill or thought involved in making the bet. How do you do it ?

I think I've done one corner market in my whole life, think it was +10 (for one team) in the whole match. I lost. My theory was, I had backed the team who were likely to attack more and who had two wingers who were likely to get crosses deflected off full backs for corners, They reached a grand total of 6 corners.....

I felt helpless through the whole bet, much more so than just backing win/draw/loss etc or even +1 markets etc. I watched the entire match through the prism of corners and had TOTALLY disliked the experience.....

A novice betting question.

There are plenty of rumours that Harry Redknapp will be leaving Spurs. I have had a look at a few Betting sites but can't see any odds on the next manager to lose his job. If I go into a Ladbrokes, Coral ect will they be able to offer me odds on Harry being the next EPL manager to lose his job?

Thanks.

I've done Furyk @ 35/1 and Mahan @ 40/1, both e/w.

I can't find anything jastons,

Those markets are much more designed for the season as most of the betting results from how teams are doing and who is perceived to be under pressure. More likely you will just see "next spurs manager betting"

Though, e mailing them is nearly always fruitful, they generally reply quickly and may give you a price on Redknapp going. Rumours tend to have them closing that market though or giving you a price that isn't worth bothering with.

Maybe somone else can find the market....??

My experience with corners, is to back a big club, who are a goal down, in the last 25mins or so, for total corners.

It was always a decent tactic if Man Utd or Liverpool needed a goal after going a goal down, or being tied with a quarter of the game left.

I've still got my Klinsmann next manager bet running from months ago, as recommended by screech when it looked like Redknapp may take over England

Actually it's the complete opposite, corners are usually one of the statistically more certain bets in football. I used to do them a lot when I gambled more and if you've got some stats they can be rewarding but the odds are tight and it's probably better on the spreads.

Arch.

The odds are terrible on corner markets, tight as nats crack.

Naturally, if you have a whole lot of data on corner markets you are going to have an advantage. I suspect most do not do this which makes the betting on these markets a waste for 99% of punters as there is no "value" at all in them. There are loads better for punters with greater value.

As an aside I would doubt many punters would have a clue as to the percentages they are betting to when they look at a corners market or any market at all.

People betting in a 130% or 100% book wouldn't have a clue really. They just bet the odds...

Depends on who was playing, but IIRC 11/10 was about fair on the corners and then you had the handicap markets which could play anywhere between -1 and -3 or the total corners in a game market and if you had the stats to look at at you could usually find yourself a fair bet.

It was an interesting market just because it could be backed up pretty well statistically, Aston Villa were always a good bet I think at the time I used to do it about 4 or 5 years ago they averaged 4/5 corners a game if the market was set at 11 they'd have to have a large swing to hit that so even if the odds weren't great at say evens they were more than fair.

dc - It really should be played a spread betting market.
