Stories like this make me love the guy even more. He just oozes class, what a manager.Bubbles & Squeaks 77 wrote:Walking up to Pudding Mill station yesterday after the game and see two cars stopped on either side of the road despite the lights being on green. I then see two hands come out of each driver window and see what I thought was a drug deal going on. Car behind the car that was leaving the stadium not honking the horn at all and I thought it was all very strange.
As we get closer my 10 year old says the driver in the left lane looks like Slaven Bilic - and so it was.
The other car had obviously stopped at red and noticed him and then started chatting, shaking hands as they went.
I shout out "SLAV" but he starts driving away.
I shout again "SLAV - a pic for my son!" and he stops just short of the bridge. We run up and get a lovely photo.
Despite the result, it really capped off a great day and we both stood in the road jumping around when he drove off. My son was ecstatic.
Spot on!

Today i met Jack Charlton.
Park hotel Mullingar
Co. Westmeath in Ireland.
I wasnt sure if it was him. Hes huge. Spoke to him about us winning the world cup in 66. He said Bobby Moore was a pure gentleman. The nicest man he ever met. He didnt say much about Hurst and Peters.
Delighted to meet him

Keanu Reeves, ITSU Tottenham Court Rd.
PS- At a previous company I released Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure in the UK. I was going to mention that to him but similar conversations with other actors/directors nearly always come around to how much they are still owed for their work on this or that film/TV series so I left it.

Keanu Reeves comes across as a down to earth bloke, not false, which must be difficult in his profession, very generous person by all accounts.Estuary wrote:Keanu Reeves, ITSU Tottenham Court Rd.

Trevor Morley on a Central Line train yesterday from Epping to Liverpool Street.
Looked pretty built despite being well into his 50s. Could have used him up front!

Simon Lowe on a train after yesterdays game. Who I hear you say. My daughter clocked him as he got on the train as he plays the headmaster in CBBC's 4 O'Clock Club.
I just Googled him and he's acted in loads of stuff over the years.

Actor Francis Magee in the Bucharest Hilton, after Thurs game. Apparently he's been filming with Ray Winston so knows a bit about WHU. I never spoke to him, but a few did.

Re: Today i bumped into...
Totally forgot to drop into this thread. Was working over in New York a couple of weeks ago. Had just left work with a group of friends heading to the New York Jets game. Literally bumped into Andrea Pirlo. He was just waiting to cross the street with his lady friend.
Lovely bloke, had a little chat, took a picture with him and walked a little way down the street with us before going a different direction.
Absolutely mental that nobody knew who he was.
