Was in a similar position a few months ago, a company going bust on us plus cash flow, Bank couldn't have been less helpful.

Crap slogans.

On my way to work, I go past an office which has this painted on the wall in big letters (presumably to try to motivate the staff):

IF YOU DON'T LIKE CHANGE, YOU'LL LIKE IRRELEVANCE EVEN LESS

Yes, I understand what it means, but it's stating the bleedin' obvious in a completely ham-handed way.

Seeing Gerry Adams trending on twitter only to find out he has stood down as Sinn Féin leader instead of pushing up the daisies :thdn:

Apparently it's a generational term. I had originally taken it to mean those born around the millenium who are now starting to "come of age", but according to the BBC it's the generation that comes after Generation X, i.e between 1980 and 2000, which of course is total horseshit, that's generation Y.

The issue I have with the term is it's generally used in a negative sense to malign an entire generation, and fits within the american obsession with pigeon holing everyone into an easily labelled group.

Was a filing clerk at Ford's Dagenham for a while in the 70's, and the 'motivational' poster in the office showed a gunslinger with the slogan 'Big Shots Go For Quality'.

I mean there's nothing wrong with motivating people, but this might have been a relic from 1950's America it was so cheesy.
