Believe me, you'll never need to play it.

All you need is root + fifth + octave + high gain amp + attitude = sorted.

Most days, yes. I'd rather not, because I don't want my kid to have to make new friends at a new school, which must be tough to take. But I'd REALLY like to live somewhere where your children's position in the social rank is based entirely on your parents conspicuous displays of wealth.

They can sneer at me all they like, it bothers me not one jot. I pity them for failing to outgrow the juvenile notion that money and status is the ultimate expression of a successful life. But it bothers me that my kid has to grow up surrounded by their grotty offspring who are being raised to believe those "ideals".

People posting in *F instead of *C

You do realise that where I live (and have lived for almost 40 years) show temps in F. They don't do C. So I think in F. Not in C.

Just as easy for you to convert as me......

:P :P :P
No.

You're an expat. You are (or should be) very used to converting F to C

It's fairly easy to do in the grand scheme of things of course and I'm not stupid, but my point is that when you're reading through a post and someone sticks a temperature in *F it kinda loses all effect as you just gloss over the figure because you don't want to spend a few seconds trying to work something out.
Someone says 27 you quickly know what that is. Someone says 36 you quickly know what that is.

Someone says 88 - well, that's just a number - the whole point of you putting the temperature down is to lament the point of how hot or how cold it is, so if people are ignoring it due to it not instantly registering, then you've just lost the point in putting it down.

You should find it easier to put the temperature down in *C as you should be more used to it, you're on a British forum... it should be you that alters it.

C/F conversion is an annoyingly complicated algorithm.

Not once in my entire life have I ever bothered to do said conversion.

If it's not in Celsius then they are numbers I will ignore.

Precisely

Those that have expatriated will at least have a knack of a quick conversion method (I just double *C and add approx 28 to the number), but in reverse is mildly trickier.

I don't want to do it when I'm reading some ****'s post.

It's SOOOO Damn hot!!! 82*F in my Chevelle!!!!!!

Errr, right.

A rough guestimate is to take off 30 and halve it.
88-30+ 58, halved is 29.
The actual 88 to C is 31, so slightly out but close enough to know whether it's hot or not.

Me too, and really only use metric in all things mechanical or building work. Anything else, height, weight, temperature and dick size is imperial

(8 and a half inches if you must know). 8-)

Women at work who spend the morning stuffing their face with cake and bitching about others. They will then spend the afternoon moaning how they struggle to lose weight and how twofaced people are!!

Wny should I have a knack of quick conversion ?

I have never had to do it...Left Blighty before we did the C bit. Spent 36 years in the US who still do the F thing, and now about 4 in Ecuador where they show temps in both.

No real need for me to think in C.

But I have been duly admonished. And will try in future to do the conversion thing so you lot don't have to overwork your brains to figure out what temps I am talking about.

And if I fall to the floor a quivering idiot (instead of a normal idiot) trying to do it, then on your heads be it.

Be forewarned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why RARS is so insistent on using metric, to back up his claims of having a 10

That Vauxhall ad with the 4 women 'bobbing along' to some mindless music.
You look like 4 mindless, gormless c***s.
It doesn't make me feel inclined to buy a Vauxhall, either.

The fact that mindless idiots who carry out acts of vandalism and generally act like dickheads are branded as 'England supporters'.

On holiday in a beautifully secluded rustic and rural spot in north Portugal, miles from the nearest paved road. The only sound is the happy birdsong, the crystal river rushing past below the veranda, and the church across the village playing a tinny, uber-distorted prerecorded 45 second peal of bells through Metallica's PA system EVERY THIRTY MINUTES.

It does often make me wonder who buys anything that’s been advertised with that sort of mind numbing dross!!
