When you say "beer club" do you mean a gang of raving pissheads because I too belong to the latter (or am an honourary member now since I've cut down on the grog).

One of our Leyland Cypress' which is 40-50' feet fell down with all the high winds and constant rain we have had. Smashed two panels of our iron fence, luckily landed safely in our next door neighbours yard with no major damage.
Others are leaning against the fence aswell and now have to have about 22 of the buggers taken down next week.
That's a nice little $8k out of pocket plus repairs on the fence.

Rule No1 mate. Never belong to a club that would have you as a member. It's held me in good stead for many a year.

You'll be far better off without them. Whoever decided that the bloody things were suitable to plant in gardens ( like they do round here ) wants a sound thrashing.

Doing a tax return for someone right now.

He has 5 student let accommodations rented out in Loughborough with a yearly income of £130,000.

How can that be acceptable?

^^^ How many students are living there in total?

£130,000 is the weekly wage of a footballer, which many on here find acceptable otherwise they wouldn't freely hand over their money to perpetuate it.

Why aren't you all doing the same thing, then? Buy some houses, rent to students - easy money, surely? You can't all have a moral reason for not doing so, so why haven't you?

I'm trying, but it's hard getting the money together. I quite fancy myself as a slum landlord too. Especially in some northern ****hole. Pop up every now and again and lord it over them, like.

One down the road from me is seeking planning permission to turn a 3 bed family home into a 5 bed HMO, total scumbag.

Whole street is on street parking so no idea where they all will park their leased Range Rovers and BMWs :x

Probably rent is that high to pay for all the damage........................unless Loughborough students have changed since 1986 - 1989.

Also tended to have a lot of rich kiddies back then. They bought me a BMW from card winnings at the end of my first year there. :D

Mine wasn't even renting to students.. so even more money. He really weren't concerned about that much either, would try and cut as many corners as possible to not get stuff fixed if he could before ppl started threatening to not pay rent etc.
