Little things that irritate you

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

She's still on the one she co-wrote with me I've just been removed irritatingly. She was never on mine as she didn't do any of the work that went into it

An ever increasing phenomena that is happening whilst out on the road.

Pull up to a stop.

Press the automated announcement button - "The next bus stop is closed".

Then press the driver announcement button and speak in to the mic. "The station stop is closed, please get off here for the station."

Wait for a little bit.

Close the exit doors.

Just in case, hit the automated announcement button. "The next bus stop is closed"

Pull away from the stop.

Then some **** presses the bell and wants to get off at the next stop and gets mardy when you drive straight past it, despite the stop not being accessible due to the road right in front of it being dug up.

9 times I did this today, as the station stop is closed in both directions. Every ****ing time the above happened...

I've Seen that many a time DL. People still queuing at bus stops that have been closed and have been sign posted. Once even when the bus stop was in the middle of temporary traffic lights.

A few years ago, a new bus shelter was put up round the corner from my house. Only problem is it isn't on a bus route and the first thing that happened was a notice on it saying 'No buses stop here'. WTF?

People that don't proof read their posts, and then blame autocorrect for their cockups.

Got a new Ford S-Max last August; the air-con didn't work. Six trips to the nearest Ford dealer have yielded the following results:

1) Visual check suggested everything was ok, but air-con testing machine was broken, awaiting parts - please re-book

2) Air-con testing machine indicated no leaks; re-gassed, assuming it was fitted with insufficient gas

(system worked ok through colder months, then come warmer weather, wasn't working again)

3) Re-gassed with dye to show up any leaks - rebook after 400 miles

4) No dye marks, therefore assume system working correctly

(system worked ok for three weeks then failed again)

5) Sorry, we've been very busy today and didn't get round to looking at your car - please re-book

6) Visual check suggested everything was ok, but air-con testing machine was broken, awaiting parts - please re-book

JUST TAKE THE AIR-CON OUT AND PUT A NEW ONE IN, PLEASE........

On a lighter note, the words of Martin Fry from 36 years ago have been bugging me today:

If you judge a book by the cover
Then you'll judge the look by the lover

That logic doesn't hold. As far as I can work out, the best logic would be:

If you judge a book by the cover
Then you'll judge the lover by the look

Is that what they call artistic licence?

If it makes you feel better, the air-con in my Smax works perfectly and when I crank it right up I can get the car like an ice box.

ABC's songs all sound like low budget commercial radio adverts to me. That one being the worst culprit.
