Your mates idea would defuse the situation for some types of aggressors but there are many who would see it as condescending even though they are in the wrong and I would never put myself in striking distance of an aggressive twats, it's amazing how many fights you see where it's so clear that one guy is going to hit the other but the victim just doesn't realise. There is a very recent video of a headbutt in a chicken shop circulating online where the victim didn't seem to expect it.

The pair did show remarkable restraint, at one stage one of the lads had the attacker held and his mate was trying to calm him down, he could easily have kicked the granny out of him. Saying that they were both sensible enough to not give him a good twatting and so avoid getting done for hate self defence....

After seeing 'Classic Albums' on BBC4 tonight on the subject of Screamadelica I have been revisiting that album, and still love it. I think they are a band that without the right producer would just gravitate back to being a basic Stooges/Stones inspired rock band. They have had many great moments along the way where Weatherall, Paterson etc. inspired them to greatness but I think straight after Screamadelica they reverted to type, and it wasn't good.

My Mrs gives me one of those looks sometimes, normally when I agree to go Go-Kart racing or something similar, I broke my neck in 1999 and have to be rained back in sometimes :lol: , So I just do the drinking part afterwards

Car Insurance renewals....

£1531 for an annual renewal with my current insurers. Exact same cover from another insurer, £458.

Interestingly mine came through a week or so ago and had increased from £264 to £388.

I went on Gocompare and found my insurer was offering me the same policy for £320 (the cheapest was £318)

I called them up and asked why, they checked a few details and offered it to me for £319.

Worth the phone call, but annoying I had to call them in the first place!
