Re: Little things that irritate you
Greece & Turkey, last time I visited them you had to stick your "soiled" paper in a separate bin, not been there for a few years though, I imagine the newly built hotels/resorts you wouldn't have to do that??
My missus use to flush her make up/wet wipes down the toilet, was forever blocking the drain, since she stopped that the drain has been almost perfect, had to rod it due to a build up of what appeared to be dishing washer powder, changed that and very little issues now.

I don't like drinking water at all, but I've found that room temperature sparkling water is the only water I can tolerate, especially if I am sitting at my computer and not thinking about drinking it. It becomes automatic.
I went out and bought 6 large bottles of Chase spring water today. Job done!
Opened it up, it's still water.
In tiny letters on the front there is Bottled at Chase Springs. Description of the water is at the back.

The thing is, some people just don't realise. Once she found out, your Mrs has done the right thing.Clacton-ammer wrote:My missus use to flush her make up/wet wipes down the toilet, was forever blocking the drain, since she stopped that the drain has been almost perfect
It's people that know but still do it, are the wrong 'uns.
I've no problem people using wet wipes but they have to be informed to bin them & not flush them. They might well not realise, automatically.
The problem has been made worse by the manufacturers branding some of them as 'flushable'. Of course the general public are going to think, oh goody, down the pan it goes. The makers of the ones they call 'flushable' did their testing on much more vigorous machinery which did break them down more, than just 'normal flushing' would ever do to them.

I hate it when it says 'bottled at source' but doesn't specify where the source is. It really could be 'Peckham Spring' or 'Chernobyl Valley'.WHU Independent wrote:I don't like drinking water at all, but I've found that room temperature sparkling water is the only water I can tolerate, especially if I am sitting at my computer and not thinking about drinking it. Can you buy some nice cordial to use the water up with?

How can you not like water? It's lovely refreshing stuff and is practically free.
Also, the whole "I don't like tap water I'll only drink mineral water" thing can be irksome.

The stream I am watching Juve v Athletico keeps freezing every few seconds.
Yet "strangely" at halftime and the ads are on for 15 minutes it hasn't froze even once.

Giving myself a paper-cut this morning as I opened a packet of plasters for a prior paper-cut. Classic WHBTS or what...

Re: Little things that irritate you
The petrol station I just filled up at, Im waiting to get on a pump, and the one next to me a woman pulls up on the pump, gets out and straight into the shop and buys a coffee, put no fuel in, and just drives off, then the one I'm waiting for comes waddling back from McDonald's next door to the garage with a large brown bag and juggling a load of drinks, I should know better and be more patient and gentlemanly but I lost it, got out and gave her a proper mouthful of abuse, I'd had a pretty s*** day but no excuse for what I called the fat selfish c*nt, she just shrugged her shoulders, couldn't care less,
I just cannot believe how some people just have no idea of common decency, too lazy or so bad at parking in a proper parking space and just pull up at a petrol pump with no intention of purchasing fuel because its easier and have no regard for anyone else

Re: Little things that irritate you
Common decency is a fading memory, mate. It’s common selfishness nowadays.
