Little things in life that make you smile

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Fergie's a freckly ginger though. Not a fair skinned svelte brunette or a racy blond.

There's a bloke at work that I don't like.
No reason I could put my finger on, never spoken to him, just something about him strikes me as not quite right, definitely a wrong 'un.
Lo and behold, I walked past his desk today and he's got a Spurs mug sat there.
Knew it!

Dentist's waiting room. Wife's appointment. Met two of the most interesting people for half an hour. Conversation just struck up out of nowhere. Bloke you'd think was 60 turned out to be 87 and a former oil-rig worker and Korean war veteran. Fit as a flea. Aussie expat joined in. Macho-fit looking type. Into serious fell-running (at 60!). Turns out he's in a gay marriage to someone much younger and they've built up a business making S&M stuff as well as market gardening. Yes. Bought a small farm in the south of France and will carry on making beds with hoists that can take 600lb as well as catering to the growing vegan market that doesn't like leather bonds by going into rubber. In a dentist's waiting room. Didn't say much about meself, wasn't much to say in the face of all that! Life eh?

My contract at the NHS ending in 3 weeks. Its no wonder they are so much in debt, I can see the cash rolling off their slopey shoulders.

The place is like a zoo with the animals running it.

Sun in the sky, daffs in the garden, bloom on the trees.

This kid watching the Moto GP.

Before I die, I want one moment like this - maybe watching Warp's mum getting her back doors smashed in by someone of this forum ...

My 2½ year old is like that in almost everything he does - nothing is done by halves, and you get the full force of his personality for everything - happy, sad or even telling me off. It's infectious, and you can't help but laugh when he laughs even when he appears to be laughing at nothing at all.

Kids are great at that age.
