Little things in life that make you smile

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Andrew Castle says "How about this for a feast"? just as the camera cuts to the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex taking their seats at Wimbledon. He was obviously talking about todays centre court line-up, but it's all about the timing.

Hearing Englishmen coating off Americans whose pronunciation of Hyundai is far more correct than the one commonly used over here.

Eldest at a birthday party, wife's took the youngest over to collect them, leaving me a good 20-minute window to run a more robust "safety" test of the swing.

How long do you have to carry out repairs, and put it back together, before they return?

I checked - it's rated to 70kg, and given that i've hardly eaten anything in the past month (other than cider), it held up admirably.

Catching and releasing a beautiful little mouse in the garden.
A couple hours in the allotment, watering the spuds and beans, picking lavender, scrumping berries and drinking cider.

To be fair, having me question your butch quotient is a bit like having Sullivan take the p1ss out of your hat.

Yeah, wait until you've got a dozen of the little buggers running through your kitchen cupboards, crapping as you go.

Straight to B&Q for some wooden traps.

Not a bad idea, but the mice would need to get past our cat first, and that ain't happening in a hurry. Considering how much time he spends asleep on the sofa, the little b*stard can't half move quick when there's a mouse or frog in the general area.
