We're having our front garden re done this week.

At the weekend the missus told me that'd I'd probably have to "come in the back door" all this week as a result.

Whichever ones you like, mate. Sorry, I assumed the majority of you were able to think for yourselves.

Anyway, hardly makes a difference once it's been shallow fried and baked.

Have to disagree, I think makes a huge difference what herbs and spice you use however you cook it.

Well for the record, I use dried basil and oregano, and I also throw in some paprika. But if you don't like those ingredients, you can feel free to substitute them with ones that you do!

What do YOU use?

I've never made it, hence asking the question.

I would have thought on top of what you put in some garlic salt and marjoram, maybe even some chilli powder if the paprika was not hot

Sure, why not :) I have to keep it fairly bland else my kids will complain, but you can go for it. Seriously, though, most of those aromatics are destroyed as soon as they're immersed in a pan of bubbling vegetable oil.

Actually, the turmeric does make a difference, and adds a lovely note. I've already informed the family I'm making it this weekend, after we finish our 4 mile run.

No, there is a park in Basingstoke called Russell Howard Park, named after a town alderman from back in the day. Rapidly becoming our very own Midsomer - some poor fella was murdered there on Monday night, following another murder about 12 years ago, when some chap was chopped up with a samurai sword and body parts scattered around the park and shrub beds.

I didn’t really think that the on-message unfunnyman had a Park in his honour.

Although Frank Muir has a playing field named after him in Thorpe, so anything’s possible, I suppose.
