I cried for a few days and am still devastated.
The last day or two, though, I PMSL thinking of some of the crazy, quirky things he used to do....
Such as tricking me into thinking there was someone at the front door but, when I go to answer it, he stole my sandwich.
Just a whirl of emotions at the moment. Sorry guys.
No apology needed mate. Always sad to hear of a family member dying.

I'm currently sitting here with my little dog Bob who is the reincarnation of Rod Hull's Emu in dog form, I swear. They're like humans in fur coats.

In an online type way..........I'm thinking of you Dave.

Been there. Been heartbroken. I'm even tearing up thinking about that feeling of losing your dog. If you don't have dogs you probably don't understand the bond that develops. If you do have dogs, you well understand.

I'm on my 4th dog . She's now approaching eleven. And I know I'll be heartbroken yet again at some point.

But, it's strange. That hole that gets left by the passing of a "best friend"........is just waiting to be filled by another little doggy urchin...... :)

Giving the home cinema a bit of a spin with some decent DTS-MA & TrueHD files.

Anthrax / Crossey

Agree totally, unless you have had a dog that has become your best mate and developed their own unique personality, people just don't get it.

My black Lab, when I lost her, I was devastated, tll this day, I still remember the little things she done that use to make me smile and laugh, no one can take those happy memories from you, you will get to that point Anthrax, then, eventually, you will decide to get another pooch, and get another best mate that pisses you off as much as they make you laugh as well....

Sorry to hear that Anthrax, I'm glad you can enjoy the good times you had with him even in this hard time.

My family have just got a new dog, a mini dachshund called Bertie. I've fell in love with him already. He's such a happy little chap. Got holiday today and tomorrow to look after him and I'm loving it so far.

Fully understand mate, it's a pretty hard blow to take when you lose a much loved dog especially if it's the first one you've lost, though to be honest it's always very hard to take. I had a dog who used to use a similar trick to steal my sandwich, I got wise to it pretty quickly but my other dog would use this same trick on him and he'd fall for it every time and she'd nick his bone or snack regularly. :?

Woman in the office who I’ve never seen before glanced over in my direction and swiftly turned away and pulled a face like someone had just handed her some dogshit to smell. Make me chuckle quite loudly.

I am disappoint. Hurty feelings. Compo needed.

Mine used to do something similar , she used to tap the patio door with her foot as if she wanted to go out for a piss, once I
reached the door she would go and stand by where the box of dog biscuits were kept

A couple of Xmas ago, a mate and I went up to London on the train to watch a gig, we'd had a few in the afternoon. On the way up he bought his missus an iPad online as an Xmas pressie. Watched the concert, had a few more beers and caught the train back ... on the way home, yup .... he bought his missus an iPad as an Xmas pressie.....
