Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Started a new job last week, back in my main field, Fire Safety, and I absolutely love it. Really hope this is the one that sees me right through to retirement
Decent wage, good pension, and I know what I’m doing. Happy days

That is the way to go!!Monkeybubbles wrote:Walking home from the local shops today and as I approached a T-junction, a white convertible Merc rolled up. In it sat this white haired geezer, mid sixties, possibly just retired, shades on. In one hand he had an orange flavoured Solero ice lolly and on the car’s sound system the Spice Girls was blaring OUT.
He gave me a nod and a big smile that said “I’ve got a Solero and Wannabe and I don’t givafuk”. I gave him a nod back and a thumbs-up and with that, he roared off down the road.
I thought that bloke was LIVING HIS BEST LIFE and now I have aspirations. Or maybe it was a time-slip vision of near-future me in some self fulfilling loop. Either way, it’s best to enjoy the small things, even if you haven’t got a sports car. All you need is Ginger Spice and an ice lolly.

Watching............ "Hawkeye and the last of the Mohicans" (Talking Pictures TV) takes me back to when I watched them first time round.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Taking the car for an mot today and recently my brakes have started squeaking so I went to Euro car parts to get some pads, ordered online and used a promo code and got 53% off
Car passed the mot and the garage fitted the pads
Realised I had ordered double on the pads so took the spare ones back, bloke behind the till refunded my whole order and not just what I returned
Basically had my mot and break pads supplied and fitted all for the grand total of £38

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
My last MOT was both unrequested, and unpaid. Major service, replaced a cracked CV boot & an extra 11 months MOT for £160. Most satisfactory, particularly in view of how much VW wanted (£329 just for the service).screech wrote:Taking the car for an mot today and recently my brakes have started squeaking so I went to Euro car parts to get some pads, ordered online and used a promo code and got 53% off

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
seeing the adverts on the sidebars on here from what people in the office have been searching for
a quick refresh of the page and i get another bunch of ads
i can see the chinese man in the office has been searching on dating sites for japanese girls
one lady searching for petite clothing on littlewoods
another lady looking for underwear
based on the sizes and styles of each lady in the office i can distinguish who shops for what
also this has happened at home and have seen my wife has been researching boob jobs
