For the past few days I've been having my meal breaks in Hyde Park. Oh my goodness me.

Beginning to think that May is my favourite month of the year. :scarfer: :raver:
The evenings are staying much lighter for longer & daylight still increasing, week on week.
If you're lucky, you get some great weather & your team has avoided relegation (yes, my expectations are very low & I'm easily pleased).
We're not yet being plagued by many insects yet.
We've still got the longest day & the WHOLE of the summer, ahead of us.
We've got a World Cup to look forward to. Apologies to TOMoS, Ageing, TaffHammer, AyrIron, Paddy Hammer, et al.....

Of course, it's all turned to s*** by July.
English humiliation at the World Cup as the mighty Panama beat us 6-0 & we come home at the group stage. The nights are now drawing in. You're being bitten alive every night by mozzies. The weather's unseasonally wet & windy & we've bought Titus Bramble out of retirement & kept Joe Hart on... :thdn:

Gumtree - some kid in Putney and his dad seemed a bit surprised he was flogging it for a bullseye (£300+ in the shops). There were loads for sale so worth looking on gumtree and Freecycle and similar. Mine was brand new.

one of them things that gets sold second hand because they take up a load of storage space. our room's 18c now, would be at least 26c without it (loft extension).

I've spent the entire weekend in the garden - sorting out a load of stuff that we haven't been able to do earlier in the year because of the weather, including jet washinga nd restraining two huge decks. Every muscle in my body appears to be aching - but I feel happy and a great sense of achievement.

Sat in the jungle behind my home, I see the first of the swifts have returned,I'm sure the numbers will be down again this year, but they've still made the long trip to see us once more.
I get to see one more turn of the wheel.

If I may say so, that's a little odd coming from a man who waits until there's ice in the lav before he puts the heating on.

I was in the garden all weekend too, but no work was done. A lot of sitting around, playing with the kids or drinking cider was done though.

The only work done in our garden was inflating the paddling pool and lighting the BBQ. And opening bottles of Weston's.

Aye, I appreciate I'm not your typical AC user, however:

1) I bought it last year during that June heatwave, when the wife was 8 months pregnant and struggling with the heat.
2) I HATE trying to sleep when it's hot.

Getting messages from my missus on how hot it is in the UK - I'm in San Fransico and there's glorious sunshine and a lovely cool breeze to go along with it. Heaven.
