There should definitely be a "what have you just bought" thread.

Very much waiting excitedly.

Arrives tomorrow apparently...... :D

And while I've got the ear of a fellow guitar geek, I picked this up a couple of weeks ago....1977 Gretsch Atkins Axe, also pretty rare....

Both guitars have been on my wish list for at least five years, but they just never show up in the UK. Then both turn up at once, and I'd just sold some other stuff......

possibly, for a theremin.
i want that effect that goes skreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch but with an underwater/bubbles feel (like when you fart in a bathtub) which in return makes you crave for some fuzz. when i understand what it is i'll get back to you!

i was also thinking about a pre amp.

so yes, i have some thinking to do. thinking about these things does indeed make me smile.

MB - can you wire it up so he receives a fatal electric shock when he tries to ruin another gig with his incessant Theramin playing?

Yeah, they're actually much easier to work with than transistors. More expensive though, and more likely to electrocute you if you screw up.

Tbh, I'd urge you to look at a Kaoss Pad. It could do something along those lines, plus a lot more, far more cheaply than I could even buy the parts to make a one-trick something or other

i was also thinking about a pre amp.

Preamp would be easy and cheap (maybe even free if I've got the parts in my stash already)

Sssshhhhh.

I was thinking of a special 'anal wind vibrato' controller which delivers 1000 volts whenever he plays a B Flat.

^ that's called a "brown noter", don't need that! (i have it already)

i was thinking about one of those überpads, it's just that i'm not really sure about the sound that i need yet (not sure what i'll be playing and with whom...).

Nice couple of finds there mate, especially the Dan Armstrong. I remember their basses were quite widely available during the 80s but they never really floated my boat. I saw one recently in Tin Pan Alley and they wanted absolutely stupid money for it.
