Plus....
I do tend to know the foods that are going to make it happen.
They are nearly all my favourite ones....

Have you had a check to see if you have a hiatus hernia?.
That's probably where I got it fromdavids cross wrote:

I started having problems in my teens...........nothing serious but it would be uncomfortable sometimes. That's continued all my life. Doctor originally gave me some chalk like muck about 40 years ago. It worked though.
It's never reached the stage where I needed to talk to the doctor about it again.
Funny thing is, my mum has a hiatus hernia........Hereditary I wonder..

Lemons have natural buoyancy (lemon-aid), but although limes sink they can't drop below the plum line.somerset-hammer wrote:Why do lemons float in water, but limes sink?

There's a joke in there somewhere.

Who the feck has stolen my lamp post?
When I left the house this morning it was there at the end of my front garden. When I got back this evening the thing was gone.
Half the "bottom of the bag" is in total darkness.

Guess that's the only answer, unless lemons are better swimmers.Monkeybubbles wrote:Because the lime is more dense. -

I often hear the term "African American" when referring to black people in America.
Why don't we refer to black people in UK as "African British"
Or do we and I just haven't heard it?

Over here it's more usually Afro-Caribbean, or just black. Or now, people of colour.westham, eggyandchips wrote:I often hear the term "African American" when referring to black people in America.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
Because Americans seem to have a weird obsession about where they're "from", probably due to the fact that America didn't exist as a country a few hundred years ago. We don't have that obsession, and generally just consider everyone English/British etc.westham, eggyandchips wrote:I often hear the term "African American" when referring to black people in America.

Is that right? I suppose nobody knew it was there until Columbus "discovered" it.sendô wrote:Because Americans seem to have a weird obsession about where they're "from", probably due to the fact that America didn't exist as a country a few hundred years ago.
