Cooking with squid ink.
It look disgusting, and it tastes disgusting. Why do people do it?

Received an email yesterday saying that they have hacked my phone and have my contact list and they will send everyone images of me watching some adult entertainment unless I send them money on a bitcoin link. Is it possible to hack someone's phone and do that?
This was yesterday and it has led me feeling almost physically sick with worry.

It's a scam - and they've probably got a password you use from one of the many data leaks that have happened.Hummer_I_mean_Hammer wrote:Received an email yesterday saying that they have hacked my phone and have my contact list and they will send everyone images of me watching some adult entertainment unless I send them money on a bitcoin link. Ignore it, it will go away. And never use the password they've said you use ever again.

What will happen first:
Our sun running out of fuel and expanding to engulf all the inner planets, including Earth
or
The Andromeda galaxy colliding with our Milky Way galaxy?
I'd like to know as I'd like to make plans to avoid these two events well before they happen.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
Andromeda Galaxy collision, around four billion years. Sun going postal, around five billion.
I shouldn't worry too much about galaxies colliding, there's so much emptiness the chances of two objects actually colliding are exceedingly small. That's not to say it'll go unnoticed though, it's quite possible the Sun could be gravitationally affected and be nudged out of its orbit around the centre. It will take Earth and the other planets with it but their own orbits may move slightly as a result. My best advice would be to stock up with both extra fleecy cold weather gear and factor 1000 suncream, just in case.

I've worked for 2 firms that include bottled water and I can tell you it really pisses me off.
We have hundreds of thousands, if not millions miles worth of underground water pipes and yet you want me to load and unload my van with crates of the stuff!
Go forth and multiply.

I've never understood peoples' obsession with bottled mineral water given how cheap, readily available and clean our mains tap water is.

Still might be cheaper than replacing all your old lead pipework, if you have it..sendô wrote:I've never understood peoples' obsession with bottled mineral water given how cheap, readily available and clean our mains tap water is.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
I've only wanted to know this for a day but figured I'd ask here.
I bought myself a new pair of trainers yesterday in store as for some reason I couldn't find them online. I normally only buy online. About three times through the process the staff in the shop tried to get me to buy a trainer spray which apparently stops them getting stained by rain and mud and stuff.
Is this stuff worth it? It only a tenner but felt like the trainer equivalent of an extended warranty so I was just like "no thanks". Is it worth getting though?

Apparently this stuff works, but doesn't last forever. I wouldn't bank on it keeping them stain free a few months in.
Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
Had this twice about a fortnight ago then nothing this week. The password quoted had no capitals that I use so hoped it was a scam and ignored it, hope its gone away now.Hummer_I_mean_Hammer wrote:Received an email yesterday saying that they have hacked my phone and have my contact list and they will send everyone images of me watching some adult entertainment unless I send them money on a bitcoin link. Yup, worth it, but needs to be reapplied fairly frequently. Get something off amazon or ebay or something rather than from the shop.James P wrote:I've only wanted to know this for a day but figured I'd ask here.

Mark Zuckerberg has masking tape over the cameras & microphones of his workstations, tablets etc. You should do the same. I'm sure you've just been hit by a nasty opportunistic con, and will be fine with just some password refreshing, but it won't hurt to add an extra layer of security.Hummer_I_mean_Hammer wrote:Received an email yesterday saying that they have hacked my phone and have my contact list and they will send everyone images of me watching some adult entertainment unless I send them money on a bitcoin link.
