Things you've always wanted to know......

It's like the town.

They originally had 'Faite a Nice' (Made In Nice) stamped on them. Apparently the small size of the writing meant that it was illegible when the biscuit was cooked, so it was shortened to Nice.

For dunking Nice > Digestives.

In fact digestives are crap, unless coated in chocolate, whence they are merely acceptable.

One of them seemingly insignificant, but ultimately life-enhancing revelations.

However, surely in anyone's experience Nice biccies cannot be dunked as they disintegrate on first contact with liquid.

Admittedly in the overwhelming majority of situations a slow-hand is to be encouraged, this is not the case with the dunk.

Plain digestives make an excellent cheese biscuit.

You can get 500ml cans, too - not the draughtflow stuff though, IIRC.

Mmmm... Guinness...

Looks like you can get the 500ml draught cans in Ireland, those lucky, thirsty chaps.

From memory it's 6 weeks to register the father on the birth certificate, and there's no legal obligation to do so. The hospital will have registered the mothers name and the childs birth date.

It's only been 14 months but the above is all hazy already.

^^

The reason I ask is, someone said to me the famous line of "two things in life are certain, death and taxes", and I thought, not if the child is never registered on government records it isn't. Of course it depends on the chosen career path of the child, but it could easily be avoided if necessary couldn't it?

Not *that* simple, I would think - how would you get into school, get healthcare, dentist, a passport, that kind of thing. Not to mention needing to stick purely to cash work.

Unless you're Her Maj of course, in which case taxes aren't certain, just something nice you do for your subjects.

Or rich, when they're something you don't like to bother with at all.

A father can be added to the birth certificate at any time after the birth. There is no time limit, however the father would have to be there and the birth re-registered. If the father cannot be there, then a statutory declaration of parentage would need to be filled in by the father - or issued by a court.

Even without a father on there, the birth must be registered within 42 days, either at a registry office, or with a visiting registrar at the hospital.

Hospitals do not register births. They record them, but they do not legally register them.

If you do not register your child, the maximum penalty is a £200 fine.

This Bionic Vet chap, Noel Fitzpatrick. How much would one of his "never been done before, ground breaking, custom made implants" operations cost?
