Having circulation on won't make a lot of difference I'd wager, but ensuring the vents are pointing at the windows will.

Best bet is some spray de-icer and a scraper.
Having the circulation on doesn't remove moisture from the environment - thus it is just recirculating it and blowing the moisture in the air back on to the windscreen, increasing the amount of time it takes to clear.

Quite a few modern cars also have auxillary heaters, which is why you can have warm air blowing out whilst your temperature gauge needle is still firmly planted at the bottom.

Quickest way is vents set to windscreen, blower on full, and aircon on.

Having now googled it its Angel

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_ ... astructure" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There are 426 escalators on the London Underground system and the longest, at 60 metres (200 ft), is at Angel. The shortest, at Stratford, gives a vertical rise of 4.1 metres (13 ft). There are 184 lifts across the Underground,[46] with 72 stations having step-free access from street to train. Major efforts have taken place to improve accessibility across the Underground, with the Jubilee line extension having lifts from opening in 1999, and key interchange stations such as King's Cross St. Pancras, Victoria station and Green Park becoming step-free. Over 28 stations will become step-free over the next 10 years, taking the total step-free stations to over 100.

Angel used to be the longest in Europe up until recently. If you YouTube it you can see someone skiing down it!

The shortest in terms of elevation is at Stratford - just over 6 metres.

The small yellow concrete markers at the roadside, with a black H on them and two numbers.
What are they for?

They're fire hydrant markers. The top number is the water pipe diameter in millimetres, the bottom one is the distance of the hydrant in metres from the marker.

Why not put them where the hydrants are?
Would make more sense than having to find it

I must admit, I'm fascinated by things like this. In his autobiography, Roald Dahl talks about when he started working for Shell, and that no man would consider being bare-headed and that they would always carry an umbrella, even on the sunniest day. And yet now, it's almost disappeared and I wonder how it came about.
What happened when the first chap decided not to wear a hat? Was he thwacked by furled umbrellas?

During World War Two, Major Digby Tatham-Warter carried an umbrella all the time and even went into battle with an umbrella. The reason being was that he could never remember the password and reasoned that any British sentry worth his salt knew that no German would ever carry an umbrella around with him.

During the Battle of Arnhem, in the heavy fighting around the town for the bridge, he led his company accompanied by his umbrella and wearing a Bowler hat. He actually disabled a German armoured car by poking his umbrella through the drivers vision slit and hitting the driver in the eye. At one point, during a particularly heavy firefight, Digby noticed the Padre pinned down by enemy fire while trying to cross the street to get to injured soldiers. Digby got to him and said "Don't worry about the bullets, I've got an umbrella". He then escorted the padre across the street under his umbrella. When he returned to the front line, one of his fellow officers said about his umbrella that "that thing won't do you any good", to which Digby replied "Oh my goodness Pat, but what if it rains?"

You didn't have to say it in the first place.

Couple of times at midnight, then forgotten about.
