A crudely-drawn picture of a knob and balls. With all spunk coming out the end, Swastikas around it, and the phrase "CHURCHILL SUCKS DONKEY COCK" scrawled on the bottom.

Surrender terms and a bargain plea that he would be treated fairly (although the exact wording and terms will never be known as Chruchill was the only one to see this letter. Whatever the terms were, this was rejected for fear of jepordising the alliance with the Soviets who were fighting hard against the Germans on the Eastern Front at the time. There were also strong rumours which have never been proven wrong to suggest that Churchill may have considered cutting a deal for a German surrender with Himmler and then assassinate him as early as 1944, but again, this was eventually rejected.

For some reason, every time I get bored of my Pardew avatar, I choose a different Pardew avatar. I've just changed it now. I don't know why, it's not like I have a man-crush or anything.

Anyway, if you were, say, a Chinese person to whom all westerners look pretty similar, then I'd look just like my avatar.

Does digital data weigh anything at all?

I'm busy transferring 30 odd thousand photos off my mac to an external hard drive and wondered if the weight of the external drive would change at all.

Not sure my bathroom scales are scientifically accurate enough.

Interesting question. Know jack about physics, but isn't digital data a function rather than an object? I mean, there can be only so much weighable material in a computer and the functioning of electrical switching wouldn't be part of that, so the amount of data wouldn't make any diff at all.

EDIT: Well Hammerted's answered that one.

Depends on storage media type. I'd imagine that non-flash magnetic drives use polarization or spin to determine between binary 0 and 1, thus there is no mass difference between the two binary states, just direction of field.

So, reading the article H1972 posted, the answer is yes because it refers to usage of flash drive and for non flash, the answer is no?

Interesting stuff.
