Constancia, near tower bridge 9/10

Can't remember the last steak I had as good as this, service was exemplary and good wine to match!

It's very small and they were turning plenty of people away.Must book!

Niche - Islington

A gluten free restuarant (my brother & nephew are gluten intolerant).

It was ok. Defintely over priced. I had a light bite (chicken pieces and chips) so i could get dessert (banoffee pie cheescake) but when it came out i wasn't impressed. It was basically two lumps of honeycomb, some bits of banana and some cream. Well pissed off. Cost me £7.50 as well.

Service was ok, but the food took a bit too long to come out. I'd probably go again and give it another go knowing what i know now (have a proper meal and **** off the dessert!)

6.5/10

Another thumbs up for brasserie zedel. Only let down by their 15% service charge automatically added to the bill IMO.

Owned by the same lot who run the Delaunay at aldwych.

Re Added on service charges at restaurants.

When I get the bill I always ask the staff if they get all of the 15% or whatever charge is levied.

If the house takes anything at all, and all the money is NOT given directly to the staff, I always ask for the service charge to be taken off and pay the service charge in cash. It's much appreciated by the mostly underpaid staff and if you go to certain places regularly, I find the level of service vastly improves.

The Little Garden, Sevenoaks.

I had a delicious onglet steak - not a cut you see too often, it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff are nice and I will be going back. It wasn't unreasonably priced either.

8.5/10.

I do the same. Happy to tip good service, but I always make sure it's the staff that get it.

Interesting list of Fay Maschler's top 50 restaurants in London.

Pampas Steakhouse - Argentinian style cuisine in Alpharetta, GA.
Been here a few times, ZAGAT which a guide to all the top restaurants voted it the best Steakhouse in the States in 2014.
Starters had Beef Carpaccio with some great parmesan, capers, lemon, olive oil and arugula.
Main course had a rack of lamb, garlic mashed potatoes, creamy spinach and some wild mushrooms.
Rest of the people we were with had a mixture of steaks, mainly filets. Their specialty is the 'Brick' 14oz center cut filet.
Couple we was with our well into their wine and brought a couple of bottles of red's, both different, from a winery called Saxum in Paso Robles, CA. Never heard of it before, but they were superb.
Great food and drink. 9/10.

Lunch yesterday at the club at the Ivy, very relaxed and rather pleasant.

Salman and Tuna Sashimi starter was all sorts of glorious
Shepherd's Pie main did the job too

Lovely bottle of Whispering Angel Rose for a very reasonable price given the surroundings.

Nice place

The Tower of London last night for a Corporate dinner. Food was good but was less enthused about being turfed out at 10.30 sharp by the Beefeaters. No ****ing messing around.

Ciao Bella for pasta? Romford isn't the strongest for dining out. Kebabs and chicken shops there are plenty of though!

Went to Il Bordello on Friday night as a result of a couple of your recommendations and it really was excellent and great value as others have said.

Decided spur of the moment post work we couldn't be bothered to cook, rang them up and they said they could fit us in for half eight :scarfer:

We shared a deep fried mozarella in breadcrumbs to start and I had the spaghetti and meatballs for main. Both excellent.

House red was pretty horrible to be fair, but that's probably our fault for being stingy. Changed it to a more expensive bottle which went down better.

Also got two free shots of limoncello at the end each as the head honcho wanted to move us so he could combine our original table together. Definitely will be going back
