Serious questions,

How many pairs of shoes do you all have and why are you paying £200 or £300 for them?

i own multiple pairs of trainers, normally bought from an outlet type place so i can get them for under £40. i own a pair of work shoes (basic brogues that were £25) and a "nice" pair of brogues for going out/weddings/birthdays etc, that i paid £55 for.

that £200 pair that i linked to i don't own - but i love them look of them. if i could find a pair that looked as equally impressive to my eyes, and they cost £20, i would buy them instead, but alas, i haven't seen a pair as nice as that for a lot less.

Sounds like my 8 year old step son

Not sure why i'm laughing, the little bugger costs me a fortune in footwear.

Well I stand up to piss. But if number of shoes is a judge of gender then no where is the enemy is the guide - she doesn't even know how my she's got, but there about 20 pairs in my wardrobe alone.

I have a nice pair of brown shoes that I wore to my wedding nearly 10 years ago and these are still going strong. I have a similar pair of black shoes but these don't get worn as much so will probably outlast me.

As for trainers well I buy a few pairs at a time, choose a pair and wear them everyday until they are no good and I move on to the next pair. I do this every year or so. I like the comfort of Nike Air but they are ugly so tend to wear plain, converse-type trainers.

I asked the question as I was intrigued as to how many pairs of shoes other chaps had compared to me.

Having a lot doesn't make your gender come into question :D

I just couldn't get my head around when I would get the time to wear 14 different pairs but to each his own.

I have a few pairs:
Steel toecapped work boots (legal obligation)
Converse allstars (hot summer weather)
Adidas Supersatrs (spring/autumn)
lace up boots (winter)

Posh shoes (weddings or any other occasion a suit may be needed)
Football boots (not used for over 10 years but you never know)
Hiking boots (used regularly)

I think that's it. The right footwear for every activity makes a difference....

I've never liked wearing shoes since I was a kid, always preferred boots. I have a pair of sheepskin lined Seibels I wear in the winter, the rest of the year I tend to wear Converse or trainers. As for Romfords pink slippers

Does anyone know why Prada trainers are so expensive & desirable, given how ugly they are?

Just remembered, I've got 2 more pairs of boots and 3 pairs of car shoes. That takes me to 21.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I own a pair of blue suede Prada trainers which I love, but not as much as the pair of Tods I treated myself to.

I would say about 40.

Lanvin black slip ons the most expensive about £350.

Favourites are just simple Stan Smith whites.

Nothing like comfortable footwear and therefore, if they cost a few quid more then I don't mind paying for them. Also a decent pair will last longer. One of my favourite pairs is a pair of blue desert boots, hand made for me in Vietnam, for the princely sum of £22. Even though they weren't expensive, the experience of someone making you a pair of shoes was something else.
