|Anything goes in The Snug, the GD's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity for non-football/news related musings.
Nope - could a couple of years ago, but I'm 46 now and my son is 13 and very quick. I reckon I could beat my 15yr old daughter and 11 year old son over 50m, but 200m is pushing it!
If I hadn't had my back problems I reckon I could beat everyone bar our daughter who has done some running of late . Now I couldn't walk 200 metres without having to stop . Ho hum , that's life and running ain't everything .
If you gathered everyone in my family and put them to a tree sawing then log splitting competition then there's only one winner , the fella who's typing this .
I'm struggling to think of a physical activity I would beat the rest of my family at, my son is much quicker, and my brother and brother in law are much stronger. I could probably kick a football the furthest

FIL - Yes (just recovering from heart attacks)
SIL 1 - Yes (She is fat and has dodgy knees/hips)
SIL 2 - Yes (She is fat)
I doubt I would beat Dans' daughter though
and i thought she was just being shy...
Yes, i would wipe the floor with all of them, but they aren't much competition.
Used to be county champion over 100m and 200m in my younger days.
Unfortunately my knees and hip have given out, and I'll be lucky to run 20m now.
I might be able to roll 200m quicker, though
200m is far too far!
I was very quick over 50/60m but then got overtaken by the taller kids. best 100m time of around 12.5 seconds, on grass, in plimsoles!
I reckon I could beat my Dad, especially since his cremation and my mum is over 75 with 2 titanium knees, so should be no prob there!
Little sister could be tougher......: she walks her dogs miles every day and I haven't run even to catch a bus for at least 10 years!
If the competition was Kayaking then only my son could beat me , I'd leave the others standing .
I'm alright at sitting down sports .
despite my body being ****ed these days everyone but daughter no 1
She has competed in UK, Europe and Canada at those 25k assault course races
I still can't get over the speed people run marathons at.
Averaging around 19-20+kmph for 2.5+ hours is mental.
I "run" on the treadmill at 10-12kmph for 5 mins and I am ready to die. It is insane.
Since my hip replacement: I'm not supposed to run at all.
Pre-2011, I could thrash all of them although it might be very close with my wife's brother. He's an olympic medalist but, my 1500m time is 12 seconds faster than his and that's the shortest race that we both have official times for. I've also beaten his marathon time by four minutes and I might have mentioned that to him a few times.
These days, my three daughters can all run mid-17 minutes for 5k and I'd probably struggle to do that even if my left hip wasn't full of metal.
