Personal email accts

How would I go about setting up personal email accts.

Do I have to buy a domain and then get the email addresses from there.

I've got gmail & live accounts. use them for different things.

Its more the Mrs as she likes to use Outlook on the PC for email. She's bad enough at not checking without having to log on to do it.

Then set up a live (now outlook.com) account for her, then set it up in outlook. Or just set up her existing account on outlook. No need for a new account at all.

Didn't realise that you could get 'Live ' accounts on Outlook (not to be confused with the online 'Outlook')!!

Thx

If she already has a live account, open outlook, click on add account, enter email address and password and it's done. If it's Outlook 2010 or earlier, then you'll need to download 'Hotmail Outlook Connector' - though it will prompt you to do that anyway and direct you to download page. Outlook 2013 onwards, this is not needed.
