Can imagine they're painful! (In a good way)

I think they're a favourite of Sly Stallone.

Anyone used Strava with their phone in Flight mode? Reason I'm asking is because, due to losing my phone the other day, I dug out an old android handset and powered it up. I don't have a working SIM for it, but it connects to wifi okay. I stuck some music on there, so I'd have something to listen to when I run, but realised I didn't have Strava on it when I set off this morning.

I've just found an APK of the app that's compliant with my phone software (android 4.2.2) and I wondered if I could just use that instead of my iphone when I'm running. Looks like Strava could potentially track my run via GPS only, and upload to the site when back online, but does anyone know how effective this is, and does it affect sensitivity & accuracy at all?

Tried it today as an experiment - couldn't tell the difference between online & offline. Uploaded the data when I got back to the office & all seemed as normal. Pretty impressive, really, and used a fraction of the battery I'd normally chew through.

After my first run struggle last week I've managed to run 5k every other day since.

When I get back I do a 45 minute workout.

I'm losing the baby weight now.

Just started upper body again. Have had a month off of everything due to injuries all over my body, mainly legs. Figured it was best to just do nothing.

I'm almost exclusively on the pull-up bar, which hasn't let me down yet. I don't use a gym, just got one of those over a door frame contraptions.

Looking forward to running again at the start of next month. Sweating is fun.

I did. However, during my bike ride I realized that it's my bike computer rather than my phone that syncs to my Strava account :D

Just back from NY where its all about High intensity and more sprints than jogs.

Running 1k as fast as you can, Watt Bike over 100 Revs for 1 minute that sort of thing.

if anyone is worrying about my knee injury I have been icing it in the evening, resting from football and cycling and purchased a knee brace for when I am going to do a lot of walking etc.

sometimes I fell like the pain has completely gone and it feels ok but then i'll feel pain out of the blue when walking or on the stairs.
going to carry on doing what I am doing and hope it feels okay on the day to play (10 days) though I will have no fitness and probably come off injured after a couple of minutes :(

Looks good to me though I usually keep legs to just those due to recovery issues, and do my core stuff at a different part of the day or incorporate it into back/bis/core.

Question... what day do you reckon it'd be best to have deadlifts on, back or legs?

Richard - depends on your goals and which type of deadlift you're doing. I'd normally do them on a back day though, I struggle to do squats and deadlifts properly in the same session.

I would do deadlifts on leg day as the main compound workout. If you are doing them properly, hamstrings should be getting a real workout and as Patito says, you don't really want to be doubling up squats and deadlifts in the same session if you can help it.

For anyone that's interested, I've just got my off-season programme leading into pre-season which starts in July. First strength cycle starts in 2 weeks so we've got 2 weeks of what our S&C coaches are calling "Tissue Conditioning", it is essentially injury prevention/mobility work. Programme below (I've got the youtube links for each one, apart from hamstring switches, if anyone isn't sure what the exercise is:

Exercises Reps
A - Hindu Press-ups 10
A - Reach Throughs 10 each side
A - Plank to Press 10 each arm
B - Lateral Lunges 10 each
B - Split squat 10 each
B - Adductor Side bridge 30s each side
C - Crawl Outs 10
C - Hamstring Switches 10
C - Walkout Bridges 10
D - Ankling 10 metres
D - Calf raises 10
D - Outside of the foot walk 10 metres

Repeat x 3 for 1 session, three sessions a week

20km erg this morning at a fairly steady rate.

Have weightlifting session at 2pm and then will see if I can can squeeze in a 10 x 1000m 1r at home this evening.

More likely will fall asleep on the sofa.

Ah I thought so, how long are your strength cycles generally out of interest?
