Smith & Wollensky if we're throwing around over priced steak.

(Our resident fish shop owner will tell you how much they're mugging punters off)

I had Steak Frites and Cafe Rouge on Kingsway on Saturday. Perfectly cooked, tasty and a quarter of the price.

I also don't think you can beat l'Entrecôte

I can tell you how much the meat costs if you know what beef it is :)

Best steak I had was in ibiza, very reasonable price, proper meat then cooked on coals infront of you then just served with potato style chips, the meat spoke for it's self. Far better than I've had any top London steakhouses

Smith & Wollensky is certainly overrated and overpriced. Having sampled both that and (the cheaper) Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, the latter absolutely smashed S&W out of the park.

Best steak I've ever had was from La Boca in Amsterdam, just round from Madame Tussauds.
Loads of Argie/Uruguayan steak houses over there, but this was set out a little bit, quieter and had much less of a tourist feel about it. Very reasonably priced too.

Going to assume locations won't be great for many of the people on here, but the steaks here are lovely:

Peter Luger is just brilliant. Love it in there.

L'entrecote is very good yes. That sauce ticks all the boxes.

Those ****ers will never reveal the recipe, although they have said that it's got anchovies in it.

Mirage, Newbury Park.

Best steak I've had in the UK, and I've eaten a few in my time.

Goodman's for Steak.

Barbecoa for best restaurant for me.

Was left unimpressed by Smith's of Smithfields though the view from the top floor was beautiful.
