One day, the contestant chose 'French Kings'.
'OK', says Nicky, 'in thirty seconds, name nine French kings'.
'Louis the First, Louis the Second, Louis the Third...'

I actually remember listening to that. I remember thinking beforehand that its a really tough question as I don't know any.

Not an answer, but I joined in a pub quiz once when in Gibraltar, called "Quizteam-a Aguilera" and there was another one called "Quizzie Rascal" which tickled me a bit.

This thread reminds me of that South Park episode where Randy is on family fortunes...

I used to play in various quizzes around Melton Mowbray, there was decent money sometimes. One guy who always played, not usually with us, was obsessed with them, used to read quiz books all the time. He was selected as a contestant on 15 to 1 a few years ago. He got the first question wrong and then his second, to keep in the game was 'What was the surname of the Scottish outlaw Rob Roy?'. Not that difficult if you play quizzes a lot but he said "Macdonald" wrong, so he's out. The day after the show was on TV he walks in to work where the gateman was a dour Scotsman, as he walks past the hairy arsed Jock leans out and says "Macdonalds makes hamburgers".

I can remember this like it was yesterday - stuck in traffic on the North Circular in 2002 and listening to Chris Tarrant's breakfast show on Capital.

He was doing a quiz and some woman was struggling with 'A famous motor racing commentator?' He gave her a clue for the answer (Murray Walker) - "something you suck" (as in Murray Mints) - to which she immediately responded "Dickie Davies".

Q2 First thing you buy in a Supermarket
A2 Turkey

Q3 Name a food that can be stuffed

The 'Turkey' answer was Family Fortunes. I think it was 5 answers where the guy said turkey each time. It's still out there on YouTube I think.
