What have you won?

Postby dal on Sat Sep 09, 2017 9:25 pm

The wife entered the Loose women completion this week. Today she has has 3 missed calls from itv. She thinks she may have won. i think she probably barking up the wrong tree.

Got me thinking, i don't recall ever winning anything ever.

Anyone ever had any luck?

Tickets for some gig off XFM when I texted Richard Bacon an amusing anecdote about being asked to leave a car park where I was skateboarding by a security guard that was at least a decade my junior.

Earlier this year I won £26000 and £32000 within 2 months of each other playing online roulette pissed up in my kitchen after a night out. Needless to say I closed all betting accounts apart from 1 which I have £250 pound a week deposit limit so no chance of me ever giving it back to them

I won an encyclopedia of animals when I was about nine in a competition in Look and Learn

I've won a few sporty things over the years and I once won a bottle of 18-year-old malt at a Christmas raffle.

Many decent gambling wins during my addiction, best sports betting one was on a £4 yankee (£44 total) I properlty studied the form on, convinced that 8/1, 8/1, 4/1 and 1/1 horses would come in and they did... £4 yankee returned £8000ish and I had like £20 singles on each which returned about £400 too so happy days

Plenty of losses now and have now quit gambling, currently just over 2 months clean

My favourite win is one we do at work every Saturday day turn that we work

£2 in each.. 9 of us so £18 stake

Both teams to score.. 15:00 kick off only (always used to pick us because we always conceded and defo scored.. was the payet season when we won)

however the first ever win the room (there are 50 of us) was my weekend.. on with a non football crew so I picked 7 of the 9 games and people put their cash in

£290 each we won

we were 4 teams short yesterday.. would have won £531 each yesterday lol

great little game to pass the time

I won 4 or 5 decent sized fishing competitions many years back.

Beat about 180 people to win maybe £400 on the Grand Union Canal probably the best one.

Also won a trip to Denmark to compete in a final. The trip was great, the fishing was terrible,

Won a number of team events as well. Best was something called Eastern Region Shield. My lot were based in London, but we turned up to an event in Linconshire, to a river none of us had seen before. Maybe 100, 6 man teams, including a few "Premiership" ones. We all did well, back to some huge hall for results and they read out top ten in reverse order. One of the top teams in the country was second, and when they read out our name in 1st was just a magic feeling. I'd love to say I can clearly remember how it felt going up on stage in front of 600 people but it was just a blur.

Haven't fished for 15 years now at least, still miss it.

Had my first premium bond lottery in August, won £25...

Got 4 numbers of lotto once, won £33....

Played roulette at Leicester square on the machines with the live table. Picked number 8 four spins in a row. it cam in three out of four spins. Shame I was only putting 50p on.

Longest shot bet I've ever won is 125/1. I did Ipswich to beat Arsenal 1-0 & Prisken to score in the 2011 league cup semi final and it came in. Only did a pound though. Think Arsenal won the second leg 5-0.

That's about it I think!

One I forgot. I finished runner up dressed as Fred Flinstone in Primary school, it was a costume competition for the entire school.

No idea how I didn't win. It was definitely rigged.

In the late 80s I remember the Daily Express held a competition for football videos of various team's seasons and I won West Ham United's season 88-89 - great, that was the season we went down. I'd been to a good few of the games (I don't recall being at any that we won, including a severe tonking away at Southampton). It's pretty grim viewing and I only watched it maximum about three times.

Won a gold medal for the garden i look after at the Britain in Bloom awards 2 years ago (this years results are due next week) and last year we won the fields in trust "best garden in England" award which meant receiving the award from Graeme Le Saux at a very posh dinner presentation at Lords cricket ground.

I had a bet on the National a few years ago, and it came with a free entry to the Irish Lottery. I won £500 on the lottery. Before that, my greatest win was a second hand tennis ball in the yearly lost property raffle at school.
