Last Meals

OK. You're going to be executed tomorrow morning and you have the right to a last meal cooked well.

Mine:

Smoked salmon and a vintage champagne

Full beef roast with heavy Australian red wine.

Spotted Dick with custard and builders tea.

Whatever else I have, its got to be topped off with that trolley of cheeses The Gavroche restaurant wheeled out when I was very lucky and taken there by a work contact/friend. I seriously think that, for that short time period, I would actually forget about my imminent death. It was that good.

So, if the cheese ends it, I'd have boeuf bourguignon for main and classic onion soup, with the cheese crust starting it all off.

Gone off wine, amazingly, but let's go Sancerre (pinot noir) with main and a Petit Chablis for the cheese.

Expensive brandy and cigar before the chop!

Amuse-bouche - Unsmoked thick cut bacon and HP sauce in white farmhouse bloomer bread.

Starter - Crispy duck and pancakes

Main course - Roast dinner - mix of roast pork with crackling, and rare roast beef. All the trimmings - Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, pigs in blankets, sausage meat etc. Duck fat potatoes.

Dessert - Eton Mes

Cheese course - yes please.

Bottle of Argentinian full bodied red with the main.

I'm a member at the Le Beaujolais - just up from the Ivy. They claim to operate the largest cheese trolly in London. It's something to behold and stinks to high heaven, but by god it's good when washed down with a nice claret or fruity burgundy.

For I think I would have to repeat a Friday Brunch I once had in Dubai.....

Don't think I'd be able to enjoy anything. I'd be too depressed about the fact I'm about to be executed.

Assuming we're being colloquial rather than cannibalistic, I'd like to start with Natalie Portman, have Halle Berry as the main course and finish off with Charlize Theron. Death by swollen tongue (or possibly drowning  ) strikes me as an interesting way of cheating the hangman.
