Good music.

I'll add to the beer theme but add a days manly chores like chopping logs/cutting grass/trips to the dump/etc. THEN having a nice beer whilst surveying your kingdom. 'Who's the daddy? Grrr...
All made better whilst doing so with a bunch of good mates.

The lucky find of a fiver in a pair of old jeans.

Your Ipod shuffling a long lost classic.

Winning away in a London derby you've had a ticket for.

Basic good manners and politeness from / to a stranger.

Home-cooked curry.

The first pint on a Friday night.

Having a great holiday, you've waited all year for, but, most of all

A smile on your kids' faces.

Time to yourself, to be able to do whatever it is you want to do, with no pressures because you have to.
Whether that's to noodle around with a guitar, read a book, watch a shedload of TV, build a shed, wander round a castle, fit new brakes on the car, or just lie in bed, as long as it's something you have decided you want to do, there's nothing better.

The main reason why I always end up going to bed way later than I should.

:D

The midges aren't here in winter .

April - May can be the hottest - our summer really .

June - July - doesn't get dark until midnight then light again at 3am - wonderful .

August - always rains .

October - November - can be quite nice and I love how it gets dark at 4.30pm , close the curtains and sit in front of a roaring fire watching telly or listening to music - fabulous . And there's Halloween , I love it .

Not so long ago I went through a phase of dreading winter coming now I love all the change that every season brings .

Sitting on the banks of the Teme with the dog, watching for kingfishers .

The anticipation before a Friday night in the local with the usual crew.

I'm loving coleslaw at the moment.

It's not up there with beer and breasts, but it's not bad.

...homemade, I take it? Red cabbage and apple coleslaw would be my choice.

Coleslaw tips:

Use a grater for the red cabbage

Half an onion finely diced

Dice your apple, and sprinkle it with a teaspoon or so of lemon juice before mixing those three ingredients together, but, for a subtle twist...

...roast in a parcel with olive oil a head of garlic that you've earlier cut the top of off. About 45 minutes later, you can remove the garlic and squeeze it to release this roasted garlic puree, which should then be mixed in with the mayo you're using to dress the coleslaw.

Not a strong additional flavour, but the garlic in the mayo definitely adds something.
