Pie and Mash shop

Postby HighWycombeHammer on Wed Dec 20, 2017 10:19 am

Hi All

Can you please help me and suggest (good) pie and mash shops close to the ground? Coming in on the Central line from South Ruislip.

Thanks.

Will likely be closed for the rest of the season but G Kelly on Roman RD in Bow is my favourite. Can't wait for it to reopen as my pre match ritual for this season has suffered.

In other words, there are no Pie ‘n Mash shops near the ground. If you try to google it, you will probably get the place in Westfield shopping centre suggested. Don’t consider it for a moment.

If it were, it would be some sugar-infested, corporate fast-food version called Geezers or something. If we ever become a top 4 side, it will happen. But it won't

You can get pie and mash at The Builders, not sure about the Carpenters but pretty sure you can?

Are you guys talking about the stand on the side of the Builders on match day?

Had it a few times and it’s pretty good - just a pain being in a polystyrene tray with plastic cutlery.

It is insane that there isn’t a proper shop closer to the ground, it’s mad no one jumped on this last year, never mind this season!

My above points are there then. Probably grabbed it from there 5 or 6 times. As I say, pie and mash are decent enough but I’d definitely rather sit somewhere than on the bench with prison proof knife and fork!

Chrisp Street Market has a decent Pie n Mash along the East India Dock Road side, which is close to the Docklands Light Railway so convenient to and from Stratford.

Good, cheap boozer across the road also, less than 5 minutes along and just past Poplar Park "The Manor Arms".

the builders pie and mash stall is alright to be fair

whatever you do though DO NOT get it from the London Pie & Mash stall outside the ground - worse ive ever had - bloke in the queue said to me ' you should have seen your face when they asked you if you want peas with that '

Could be a cracking location for a pie mash shop.

It's all gentrified these days isn't it, Pie & Mash? It used to be a cheap filling meal, spit and sawdust wooden benches type lunch, now it's all well furnished shops with pictures of West 'am players all over the walls, well buttered mash and pies with real MEAT in them ffs.

Right near to Stour Space where the supporters club is currently housed. I agree could be a little goldmine if they get the fayre on offer right. It’ll never be a pie & mash shop though

£8,500 a month rent for a pie and mash shop that will only be busy 22 times a year

The reason there is no places around there is because much like us the local area has been priced out of anybody offering that type of service, closest place would be Stratford Centre and it just wouldnt work, too far out

was just gonna say the same thing - thats a hell of a lot of pies to shift on match day before you can even pay the rent - then theres the rates/staff/running costs

Just done the very rough maths and would need to sell 4000 pies a month at 3.50 to roughly break even at 14k a month! That is not taking into account the summer. A lot of pies!
