Bethnal Green Tube Disaster 1943

I listened to a woman on the Jeremy Vine show yesterday talking about this, she was 11 at the time. Anybody who's interested I'm sure its still available somewhere on the BBC, well worth a listen. I don't usually get choked up listening to stuff on the radio but I did yesterday. The lady, Babs, told the story as she was there with her mum and sister and got pulled out by somebody, very sad tale.

Horrendous incident, pretty much airbrushed from the history of WWII. Such recent history, but not respected by the majority of today's society, particular young middle classes, who like to paint the war generation as mean m9inded grasping racists.
Dont like the soppy name of the memorial, personally.
