Has anyone been to My Old Dutch before?

I've had some decent meals there in the past.

The DC ones were because that’s where Head Office is.

Do you slice the banana? Or squidge it? I don't understand the concept.

That was banging. 4 big fluffy American pancakes, with bacon, maple sryup, strawberries, mango, blackberries and blueberries. All washed down with a big slice of apple pie.

Keep your anaemic poncy French crepes with lemon & honey.

Used leftover leg of Jacobs lamb, made a Balti sauce and simmered long and slow, with steamed basmati rice.

Followed by Blackberry and Apple crumble made from the final frozen fruit from the allotment.

Sounds good, but no more than a normal midweek dinner.

Slightly unusual for us in that we rarely eat puddings.

Actually, same here. I don’t recall us ever having pudding midweek. And highly infrequently at the weekend, too. Enjoyed it, though.

I tried the American version once, in America. The pancakes themselves were fine, but bacon with maple syrup was truly horrible. I'm with HD1 here.

I was working away until late today, so I think I'm on pancake duty for breakfast tomorrow. Crepes all round, the kids will probably have honey or chocolate spread, and in the likely absence of any lemons in the house I'll chuck some marmalade on mine.

We celebrated pancake day by having beef dopiaza, masala potatoes, pilau rice and poppadoms. After cooking that I couldn't be bothered with pancakes so we're having them for breakfast.

Incidentally, Pancake Day marks the start of Lent, when all good Christians are meant to fast for 40 days and nights. Anyone joining in?

Pretend it's Dele Alli's face and beat it into a mushy pulp.

I tried these last night Patito with a little bit of nutella and banana sliced on top. Top notch, thanks for the tip. Also delightfully cheap. How many do you normally have in a sitting?

Nice one  Only 2/3 bananas (+ 4-6 eggs) worth normally, if you mush/beat them up well that should be enough for anyone who doesn't have worms!
