Devastated to find out my daughter took the leftover portion to school for her lunch today :(

Cheered up when my wife told me she’d made a crumble with the fruit we scrumped from the allotment yesterday :)

Cooked up some minced beef with onion, garlic, mushrooms and cayenne pepper. Sliced a pepper in half cooked that in the over for 20 mins then spooned the meat in and topped with fresh mozzarella.

Carb-less dinners are not too bad atm

Went on a carb-less diet some years back, sat opposite a mate of mine in a pub who had ordered boiled bacon and potatoes. The potatoes were like the old school dinner variety, ice cream scooped and lumpy.

My mouth was watering just the thought of those spuds...

Made a huge pot of bolognese sauce with 2/3rds beef mince 1/3 pork mince on Wednesday , yesterday I added cinnamon to the leftovers and turned it into a moussaka sauce , only had one aubergine so I fried slices of potato to pad it out using our new toy , an air fryer [ thank you , Mrs Collector ] - I know that Greeks use a bechamel sauce but we prefer topping it with cheese sauce - had it last night [ with salad ] and today [ with chips and onion rings ] .

My sort of dinner, that sounds really nice.Moussaka is one of the few reasons I still eat red meat, I love it.

She's too busy, and I'm too immobile to cook the way we are used to, so perusing this thread has become a form of masochism! [ I prefer cheese sauce to a bechamel too, even in bol, which doesn't go down well in an Anglo-Italian household].
