Gonna make some this week, with some good gravy and steamed greens. Can't decide on chips or mash though.

Sold!

Now here's the tricky one - do I buy them, or make my own faggots?

Have made my own,but if pushed for time, I like Brains, separate the gravy then add onions, splash of red wine, before re combining. Spend any time spare on making Bakewell tart and custard for afters.

[ Now THAT'S a mid week dinner!]

Home made chicken bacon and leek pie, with home made chicken stock, white wine, cream and thyme, and a pastry recipe that involved adding eggs to the flour and butter. With chips and spring greens.

Faggots tomorrow.

Our lad asked me for pizza yesterday - Jen had gone to work and had taken the car so I looked in the freezer for some suitable toppings - I found a pack of cumberland sausages , chicken breast and some beef mince from a neighbour's croft - I made some chilli mince , spiced up the chicken , fried the sausages and air fried a couple of red peppers , made the dough in the bread machine - whizzed up 2 tins of tomatoes , added some tomato sauce along with a little concentrated tomato paste for the base topping and voila 2 large pizzas . Bit Ready Steady Cook-ish but I was pleased with the outcome .

Today will be the rest of the chilli mince with home made chips .

excellent dinner - the kids loved the shoulder of lamb more than the burgers !!

Sirloin, jackets and green beans tonight. Half a teaspoon of peppercorn sauce for everyone and the rest for me to mop up with bread....
