Re: the dinner thread
Tonight I cooked roast beef with all the trimmings, buttered carrots and peas, roast tatties, croquettes, garlic potatoes with cheese, gravy, mushy peas and creamed mash potatoes, enough for the usual 8 that turn up here every Sunday.
I get told now when it's ready to serve that one daughter and her boyfriend and their friend that tags along for the feed are not coming tonight, my other daughter is nursing a hangover so she is abstaining, my eldest boy is just back from a meal out with his girlfriend and my other son is not home from work so probably in the pub and having macdonalds on way home at about 11pm.
So just me and the missus. If any of you can catch a Ryanair flight to Cork in the next ten minutes I will keep it hot for you and even collect you from the airport.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The missus is now in the bath with a glass of wine and has her ipod thing on and murdering some songs and ain't coming out anytime soon.
I would say something if I was a shyte cook but I could give Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey a run for their money. Looks like Monday nights dinner is going to be very tasty, thank God for microwaves

Seafood spaghetti last night. Clams, big king prawns and squid.
Roast leg of lamb today with roast potatoes, parnips, cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, yorkshire puds (the missus insisted) and swede & carrot mash with lots of mint sauce and gravy. Absolutely banging.

Chicken, Ham & Leek pie is one of my favourites. I think I'm going to have to have one next weekend.

The missus used the leftover lamb from Sunday's roast to make a lamb biryani last night, with home made vegetable samosas.
