Re: the dinner threadI’m having haggis tomorrow. Vegetarian haggis, mind. I’ve not tried it before and was curious. Bit worried the absence of lung might take something away from the dining experience.
Re: the dinner threadHad a "healthy" fry up dinner last night, with very limited frying.
Grilled sausage Scrambled eggs Fried tomatoes and mushrooms Beans Avocado Very nice indeed.
Re: the dinner thread
My girlfriend and daughter both eat vegatarian Haggis and thoroughly enjoy it.
Re: the dinner threadi understand WHU independent's point about texture of the stuff vegetarians eat and it's a fair one, but i still think that a vegetarian version of something made entirely by sheep is nonsensical.
what was it actually made of? a colleague loved it, i asked him this very question and he went like... err... veggies i suppose... **** (yes this is more against my colleague than it is against veggies and vegetarian haggis, cos he's a bloody idiot, but i'm really still curious about what's in it. i mean, its composition could be literally everything non-meaty, and could vary every time...)
Re: the dinner threadI'd guess it's chopped root vegetables, oatmeal, barley & spices.

Re: the dinner threadHow was your vegetarian Haggis?
Re: the dinner thread
Dunno yet, this week's been all screwed up, so looks like it's going to be tomorrow. Burn's night, fittingly enough.
Re: the dinner threadI have Haggis penciled in for tomorrow's dinner as well, with Neeps and Tatties. Washed down with a can of reduced sugar iron bru.
Re: the dinner threadMmmmm... Irn Bru.
"Made in Scotland from gechrders (girders)"

Re: the dinner threadNot dinner but yesterday morning I made a sausage sandwich, but put fried onions and brown sauce in it.
It was quite possibly the best sausage sandwich I've ever had.
Re: the dinner threadI made haggis bolognese this afternoon. Sure that would upset both the jocks and the Eye-talians.
Re: the dinner thread
not if it is good it wouldn't! haggis and tomato sauce seems a bit odd but not sure why, i'd give it a go.
Re: the dinner threadPlenty of eye-ties settled in scotchland. I reckon haggis ragu sounds bloody lovely.
Anyway: Friday - curry Saturday - curry Tonight - roast beef
Re: the dinner threadThere aren't many better things in life than roast beef cooked to perfection.
