Question is. Could I get an offsett mortgage and would I be better off?

EG.

Someone has 100k in the bank and owes 100k. Would thus be an option as its tantamount to a interest free loan is it not?

Waiting for Ritchie to answer this most probably

Correct, you would pay no interest on the mortgage - however, you would also accrue no interest on your savings, but since savings rates are typically inferior to mortgage rates, you'd almost certainly profit.

Anyone know how mortgages in Spain work? I think they're a little different to here.

Thinking of buying a little getaway over there.
