Hammers fan to run the London Marathon for Brain Research

Postby ironsonthebrain on Wed Apr 11, 2018 9:25 am

My son Luke will be running the 2018 London Marathon to raise funds for the Queen Square Brain Bank (QSBB), a research facility at University College London.

QSBB researchers carry out research studies into neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia ,and the Brain Bank also holds a unique collection of brain tissue which can be made available for other research groups both in the UK and internationally. As a result we have a greater understanding of the underlying processes that lead to the death of specific brain cells, improvements in diagnostic precision, and opened new avenues for more effective treatments.”

QSBB depends entirely on charitable donations for its survival. Every donation, no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated by the team at the QSBB.

I have included links to Luke’s JustGiving page and to the Queen Square Brain Bank if anyone is interested in finding out more about the research work that is ongoing.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Best wishes,
Rob
