Oolong tea. Jun Chiyabari being one of the best

Yellow tea. Yellow Sun (sold by Whittards) is fantastic

Sencha Genmaicha tea - Japanese green tea with toasted rice grains

Watanabe tea - Japanese black tea

If none of the above are available for whatever reason in your local Wetherspoons, then go for Lilt (with the totally tropical flavour)

I always go for soda and lime, with plenty of lime cordial, lime wedges and ice.

A dash of nice tonic, with an extremely large measure of export strength gin added.

I'm dry for the year; week 17...

If you want 'beer' without alcohol, I rate Becks Blue as the nicest, but the Budweiser 'Prohibition Era' is also fairly drinkable.

Very select pubs sell a non-distilled (and therefore no-alc) 'spirit' called Seedlip, which has a very similar flavour to gin, but without, of course, the obvious 'hit' you get when drinking the real thing. (click on name if interested further). I actually quite like it.

Everything else, bar 'straight' soda or tonic water, in a pub does have a tendency to be over-sweetened, making it impossible for me to realistically go through several pints of the stuff.

Peppermint tea.

Or sparkling water.

Nanny State is a very nice alcohol free (for all intensive purposes) beer.

This is my one. I also get them to add a dash or three of angostura bitters. I know it's alcoholic but it's not like you're banging shot loads down.

Failing that, drive there, cab home and pick the car up in the morning!

The Holsten non alcohol 'classic' are the best-tasting available in Saudi. There's one called Moussy which is too sweet and malty for me, and the locals seem to prefer the fruit-flavoured Holsten which are totally 'haram' to me. Fruity beer? Eurgh
