Tea. It's the only thing I drink that doesn't have alcohol in it.

Well done, mate.
How do you feel, for it?

By this point, a third of the way through the year, I have almost forgotten that I ever used to drink alcohol.

I'd say that it takes about a month - 6 weeks to get out of your system, but, after that, it's all benefits, really, especially if regular exercise is also on the menu.

I've done it twice before (2014 & 2016) and reckon that, in those years, I have not spent £1000 (minimum) on booze and lost about a stone in weight, just through total abstinence and twice a week exercise down the gym.

I like mine fizzy, aka Dr Pepper. Can't beat some Dandelion & Burdock too.

Happiness for me is that diet Irn Bru tastes exactly like the sugary one

No booze on a night out? It's never happened.

Fiery ginger beer. It seems to have become more popular these days.

Disagree mate, Erdinger Blue is by far the best, so much so that I drank a pint without knowing it was non-alcoholic until the bar staff told me. I felt like I'd been violated.

Just found this taste test which recommends M&S 0.5%. Would that break your alcohol ban PM? I think it makes it the same as Top Deck shandy I used to drink at primary school.

If I am honest, I only drink non-alc lagers if I am watching us play! I'd prefer a proper non-alcoholic one, to one that's even only 0.5%.

Aren't the 'non-alcohol' lagers mostly 0.5% anyway?

It's actually marketed as an isotonic drink and sponsors many sporting events in Germany.

Dunno what sport this is but beer seems to be a big factor ...

Fentimans tonic with a slice of lime. I like it so much I have started leaving the gin out at home.

I don't want to derail this thread too much but I have never felt any benefits from giving up alcohol. I drink about once a week and have no drink at home. The de-stress benefits of a night out seem to work very well for me. I tried replacing that with exercise but I began to loath the exercise and got quite grumpy. I suppose we are all very different, but I find moderate exercise, moderate drinking, and a reasonably healthy diet do it for me. I suffer from a bit IBS and I found it actually got worse after I gave up booze (admittedly I only gave up for 2 months). Cutting out really fatty foods made a difference though - felt far more energetic.

I gave up alcohol for six months in my mid-twenties with brutally honest friends telling me I was no longer fun on nights out. One time, I was drinking bottled water all night and my friend (who knew the bouncer) said they'd been keeping an eye on me because they thought I was either using drugs or selling them.

I like to drink Fanta Orange or Irn Bru when I'm not drinking drinking.

Not much beats water tbh, especially if you're really thirsty.

I do like the Becks Blue. Happily drink those. Why don't they do them on the pumps though? Wouldn't sell enough?
