Didn't someone once say that he was on here again, but under a new name?

I'm way too nice to get banned .

I did have a thread I started removed without an explanation given - I'd been out all day and when I got back the thread had disappeared , nothing to do with me .

It's just common sense really isn't it - don't upset folk for no reason and you should be fine .

As for Romford , never met him but he came across as a passionate West Ham fan and football in general but when he got bored he'd go after certain groups of people , Science Fiction fans in particular and he deliberately upset quite a few - I was on holiday when he got banned or away doing something .

I hope he's ok .

No bans that I remember.

It's not hard to follow the rules is it? Bunch of bloody crims.

I like Romford's posts, he made me laugh as he was clearly winding a few up and they bit. I tried once to explain the joys of gaming (x box-playstation etc.) How relaxing it can be etc etc, I backed off after about 200 posts trying, he didn't have any of it... I know he wound many up, but I think he is missed on here.

Saw him many times at football (he is sort of difficult to miss), couldn't bring myself to go up to him and say "hello Romford, I know you from the internet....."

I am an angel, I think I have probably only had about 3 posts removed/changed in all my time here. Which in my "real" life I tend to be the opposite as I'm very direct with people when I need to be.

I do like getting some popcorn and watch a flair up on here though, I rarely, if ever bite on here, life is too short.

I can't remember which thread it was he was trolling, but it was a TV programme where he was "genuinely" interested to know why people watched it, I think that 90% of his replies were removed, apart from the ones where he went on to talk about how his old man liked buses, I think.

Romford's problem was that he could dish out criticism to posters but not take it himself.

He did - we're all capable of that, frankly.

Clacton-ammer wrote:but I think he is missed on here.

He is. It's a better place with his input, broadly speaking - certainly about football, the club and matters of that type.

Re Romf,

He did talk of his struggles sometimes, like his mental health ones.

You could see that sort of battle in his posts .

A very hard read at times, very hard. But I suspect (underneath it all) a basically ok chap in the flesh. Rarely swore in any of his posts. I noticed that.

He wasn't horrible by any means.

I think his 'problem' was the insistence on people having to talk to each other as though in a pub.

I can understand the point he was making but it is very rarely applicable to most conversations.

I did not want to bring that up, but agree fully Crossey.

I know from the help he gave me organising a stag do, and many others on here he helped, he is a diamond, a rough one, but a diamond all the same.

Please could we leave out the personal comments relating to individual members from this thread.

For present members it has the potential to end up in a slanging match and for past members it's hardly fair when they are not around to defend themselves.

Thanks.

Well said Gnome.

I find it strange that people are prepared to have sly digs at others when they have never met,

I'm in the 'don't say anything with a keyboard that you wouldn't say face to face' brigade. Mainly because people get carried away and say things they wouldn't otherwise.

For what its worth I know Romford very well and used to laugh at how wound up he & others would get with each other and bite at the slightest thing.

Determined to get round his house and programme the sky box to record all Arsenal games and the Ryder Cup!!

I made up a witty song about an ex manager and his alleged involvement with players wives.

That got me a paddling.
